Ooooh.
Took them long enough.

Yeah, it's a lot longer than I'm used to waiting for Paradox patches at this point in the lifecycle, but from the change lists they've been posting it's full of deliciousness and even sporting some new features.
Serious Sam HD - now I have a sore neck from the insane number of aliens I just killed while jumping and spinning in all directions!
Such is Life...
I think the problem there is the way they programmed the AI. On Prince level it has a wider range of options it will consider, including bad ones. On the higher levels it zeroes in to the best option available (according to the developers). With the 1UPT hex combat, there usually is 1 best option and several bad ones. And it usually only take 1 or 2 bad decisions to lose any numerical advantage the AI has. On the higher levels it gets a less wide range of options so the AI will chose the best one more often. Defending against AI on Prince has been a breeze for me as well, but there have been times when I had to end turn while the AI had an opening in my defence but just didn't take advantage of it.
edit: Just read that on higher level, AI produces more armies and gets even more confused, lower levels, less armies, better army movement. So, that needs fixing.
Been playing large maps, epic timescale. The game I'm now playing Catherine, who gets double strategic resources. It's insane, I have 24 iron (from just 2 6-iron yields) and loads of horsies. I just can't afford to take advantage of them yet because I'm expanding rapidly, so cash and happiness is low (many cities is manyso I have to build happy buildings which eat up maintenance and construction time).
Once I stop expanding I very well could blitz a couple of neighbours when I start focusing on armies. So I won't![]()

I could have had class. I could have been a contender.
I could have been somebody. Instead of a bum

You only have to press ESC once.
The cinematic plays while the game is loading, and when it's loaded it reacts on your memorized key stroke. Alternatively you would have a "loading" text and you'd have to wait as well. Mine usually responds when the old geezer talks about how lush the terrain is.
@Wraith Alt-tabbing stops the movie, but the loading continues, so it only seems as if you can react sooner.

Ah that makes sense. I usually get to about where Mr. Voiceover starts talking to his burly young altar boy.
I'm playing the it's ridiculous to turn on the heat at the beginning of October so we should just put on more layers game. It's only 67°F inside my house right now. Tonight will probably be so terrible that I can't deal with it anymore.
The kids, on the other hand, are finally playing Super Mario Galaxy 2.
They're going to be annoyed when we have to go to gym in a bit. Clearly Monday is not the right day to offer a gift.
We're stuck in a bloody snowglobe.
Galaxy 2 owns, but it's almost twice as hard as the first game.
Still playing Minecraft, I got this so far:

I enjoy blank walls.
They seem to be okay with it so far.
We're stuck in a bloody snowglobe.
Only Bioshock 2 is any good though! : D
I enjoy blank walls.
Keep on keepin' the beat alive!
Also, I ordered Skies Of Arcadia yesterday. Should get here in about 2-3 days.
I enjoy blank walls.
Vicky 2 has a 1.2 patch, so I'll be on that!
From the patch notes:

It would be helpful if I could enslave people on that game.

Enslavement has all kinds of earning potential. They didn't call it "The Big House" because it was a three bedroom ranch.
The Rules
Copper- behave toward others to elicit treatment you would like (the manipulative rule)
Gold- treat others how you would like them to treat you (the self regard rule)
Platinum - treat others the way they would like to be treated (the PC rule)
Still inching my way through Guild Wars. Came across this eccentric little dwarf during a mission.
Kind of funny because Leeroy didn't happen for more than a month after Guild Wars was released. Reminds me of the sorry and incomplete state of the game at that time, and why I'm just now getting around to it.![]()
Don't know why, but Fable II is currently free on Xbox Live. I just added it to my download queue via the website, hopefully Brandy knows how to turn the xbox on and download it.
Starting out with AI War. I'm totally out of my depth.
There's a man goin' 'round, takin' names
And he decides who to free and who to blame
I've heard good things about Neverwinter Nights, graphics looked cool, has dragons fights, i've never played it but has come highly recommended from friends (The best thing i can compare it to is a better oblivion/morrowind you get a party instead of one guy, and cooler fights): selling for 10 dollars now http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/never...amond_edition/
As for games.. not sure, been meaning to try out some new game. Played Go alittle bit, interesting game... I guess it's considered comparable in complexity to chess, some argue it's more in depth. I know programming AI, for it, is much harder. As computers have more or less matched the best humans arguably are a bit better. I know the late champions have been struggling with the top of the line computers, I don't know how Kasparov or Fischer would fair against them at their sharpest. The thing about when play a computer is you have to be in the zone 24/7 not missing a beat, using your highest order clear thinking. Humans often can't maintain that, and can make errors. Even though their peak might be higher than the current computer programs. I'm glad for Go that raw computing power blows because of the number of moves available, and conceptualizing becomes crucial.
I don't play any online games, I've seen DDO though, and LOTRO both being free, but DDO looked okay, rather play D&D lol.
Edit: Was reading more and apparently Kasparov tied a computer in 2003 which is pretty sweet, so I think even though he lost to deep blue in '96, (which seemed to be due to a crucial mistake in one of rounds), and they denied him a rematch, he seems to have outplayed more advanced computers, and actually forced the tie with the computer even though he was up. That's 7 years ago so computers are even better now. So it'd be tough, if the guy rated #1 ever is barely beating a 2003 computer program, and at that due to fear of losing deciding to go for a draw. But that's the problem with facing a computer have to be alert 24/7, very strenous.

This is pretty much the greatest RPG of all time.
It's just unbelievable.

Farcry 2, again. It's better this time around because I'm concentrating on the missions more than the time-wasting awe of exploring the whole place.
Faith is Hope (see Loki's sig for details)
If hindsight is 20-20, why is it so often ignored?
TRYING to play Worms Reloaded, but their fucking broken network code won't let us run a LAN game.
