Fact. Doesn't really seem to have backfired much so your theory may need to be revised to better match reality. It's almost as if white supremacists--or ignore--can stomach Trump using a dumb black guy to further his agenda, similar to how other groups of core Trump voters can ignore his various other quirks and inconsistencies.
Gotta love how liberals attack black conservatives. Black neurosurgeons are only 'dumb black guys' when they support conservatives eh? True colors are showing you racist ass, why not call him an Uncle Tom while you're at it?

That isn't a fact. Saying you are opposed to illegal immigration doesn't automatically equate to 'we need less non-whites in the country.' He's framed immigration as an economic and crime position not a racial issue. If you want to take a look on-line what actual Trump supporters are doing feel free to browse the sub-reddit.

Of course like Bill Clinton saying "Make America Great Again" I'm sure liberals will consider this TOTALLY different than when they hounded John McCain's health, blatantly exploiting the visible scar tissue he had from being a POW to help win an election... Yup totally different.

No you retard, black neurosurgeons are dumb when they do and say really dumb things. There's nothing in the job description that says you can't both be a neurosurgeon and believe stupid shit. The only mandatory criterion is that you have to believe you're God and even that's negotiable.

That being said, my post was written from the perspective of Trump's white supremacist voters to clarify how someone who is a white supremacist may want to vote for another white supremacist who seems to have a black surrogate. If you weren't as dumb as a pile of neurosurgeons you would have understood that from the context of the exchange we were having. Use your brain.

This is some weekend at bernie's level shit. if you zoom in and slow it down you can see that they had to carry her. They were dragging her on her tiptoes. She checked out well before that van pulled up.

At 0:12 a piece of metal falls out of her pants leg, and you can hear it 'clang' against something else hard on its way down. My theory is that Hillarybot has been skipping maintenance cycles.

    Here's an update.

PS: When did we get this? This is useful as hell.

OK I have said for weeks in the Trump thread that the Trump campaign was dead unless events changed. Events seem to be changing, Clinton is imploding.

Firstly and I'm surprised this wasn't mentioned here but on Friday insulting Trump voters as half being a "basket of deplorables". Attacking your opponent is one thing, attacking voters is beyond stupid.

Now this fainting, on top of her constant coughing in the last few days, is going to open a can of worms as to whether she is literally even fit to be President.

Hard to believe but Clinton could yet snatch defeat from the jaws of victory here. Tragic for the Democrats that nobody had the cojones to run against this eminently beatable and weak candidate that lost to a first-time black Senator eight years ago.

In an election full of stupid, the Clinton health issue trumps them all. Does a single Clinton supporter prefer Trump to Kaine? If not, why is this an issue? If Clinton is sick, they'd vote for her to get Kaine. If she's not sick, they'd vote for her to get her. Plus Kaine is viewed more favorably by the general public than Clinton. If anything, the prospect of a Kaine presidency might get Clinton more votes. In their rush to attack Clinton, Trumpeters don't realize they're actually boosting her electoral chances.

Regarding Wraith's tweet: I love how hiding pneumonia is apparently a new political low. Seriously? Lower than claiming your opponent has an illegitimate black child? Really?

I don't think that's exactly what it's about. The hiding it certainly didn't help, and now there's a ton of speculation that it's not simple allergies heatstroke pneumonia that she won't shake off soon, but it's more the possibility of electing someone of poor health to the office that's causing the DNC to consider this. They won't actually do it though, because however bad it looks, replacing Hillary at this point is just giving up the election, and even now Hillary at least still has a shot. As for your first paragraph, I don't think that's how public opinion works. Hint: it's not strictly logical.

It is the hiding aspect which goes to the whole 'she's not trustworthy.' Also a lot of swing voters vote with their gut. People's guts tend to favor strong people.

  15. #105
If Clinton gets elected and ends up being too ill to serve, then Kaine becomes president. I fail to see the problem.

I'd like to see a single Clinton supporter vote for Trump because they believe Clinton is sick. Just think about how insane that very notion is. This is nothing more than pandering to the Trumpeter sexists who delight in any evidence of women being weak.

You mean she's like every other person who's run for the office of the presidency? I don't recall seeing real medical records from Trump's camp.

I'd like to see some empirical evidence on that.

Comeon, you know that's not exactly how this works. The Clinton supporters are going to vote for Clinton, or they're not going to vote at all. There are a bunch of undecideds that may flip over and vote for Trump over Clinton, though. These elections are usually mostly about the 10-20% of voters who haven't picked a tribe. But nobody who's already picked a candidate to stand behind is going to vote for someone else, the worst that'll happen is that they'll get demoralized and not bother voting.

You don't have to fret too much, this is going to hurt her for the next couple weeks, but the election isn't in the next couple weeks, and the public has a short memory. I expect Trump to start doing everything he can to try to lengthen that, but the DNC is usually pretty good at spin control.

And which undecideds are going to decide that they prefer Trump to Clinton because the latter is sick? Are these the same undecideds who prefer Kaine to Clinton?

I'd say Clinton might be harmed a bit by not being able to campaign for a few days, but it's not like Trump is campaigning at all (and no, going to Connecticut or Mississippi doesn't count for very obvious reasons).

You're focusing on a ridiculous non-issue. The only people who care about this are die-hard Trump supporters.

Imagine it was Palin who was running for president in 2008 and McCain was her running mate. Do you think she'd lose votes if she got sick?

I'm pretty sure that according to his doctor Trump is the healthiest person to run for office in the history of ever.

EDIT: Believing anything from the Clinton campaign is rather silly now. They literally make up whatever they think will work and then when it doesn't... well let's just lie a different way.

  23. #113
It should be a non-issue, but it might be an issue for some poor fools.

Ordinarily I'd dismiss these things out of hand but the little we do know about Clinton's health makes it difficult to dismiss concerns with any high degree of confidence. The explanation offered is not unreasonable, but I can think of at least one plausible and worrying explanation for her recent symptoms and we can't dismiss that completely without access to her medical notes (except by using the indirect evidence offered by their account of events after the video).

    I still blame Putin.

The biggest issue isn't her health but her credibility. Trump has been pushing a meme of "lying Hillary". In fact searching for lying Hillary on Google comes up with a lot of predictive options and 35 million hits.

The suggestion she has allergies, no wait that wasn't true, she has heatstroke, no not that either, she has pneumonia, if we believe that ... it plays not just into the issue of her health but also into the theme that she is untrustworthy.

Not only that but for as long as the story is about Hillary, and whether she is fit to be President and whether she is trustworthy it isn't about how terrible Trump is.

Finally the notion of "if Hillary isn't fit then Kaine takes over" is nonsense. If Hillary dies then Kaine takes over. Short of that she has to resign or be impeached. When did that last happen? It's perfectly possible for her to be unfit and to win the election and then be a weak, unfit President unwilling to resign.

It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. If they'd waited and made an announcement after they had all the necessary information then they'd have been hammered mercilessly in the meantime for being secretive. Giving an explanation that seems right at the time but ends up being wrong (MAYBE) is common, it's not a sign of untrustworthiness but rather a reflection of the uncertainty inherent in life in general and medicine in particular.

This is just how life is. There's nothing in any of the explanations that is unreasonable. If you're sick and you end up getting dehydrated then you feel sicker.

Given the few details we do have of her medical history there are certainly alternative and more worrying explanations but I have to assume she's being cared for people who are knowledgeable enough to be able to exclude the first things that a schmuck like me can think of. And honest enough to not say it's pneumonia of they truly believe it to be something else.

She should release her health records, but make no mistake: none of her opponents are going to trust those records and they'll keep using her health to attack her while the conspiratorial and poorly informed people that make up a large portion of the Republican voter base will lap that shit right up bio matter what the medical records say.

The light that once I thought compassion still casting shadows in your action
The words you shared were cold transactions that bring me to curse what you've done
When you're up there absorbed in greatness with such success you've grown complacent
I hope you scorch your many faces when you fly too close to the sun

It's cool though, this has brought billions of closet doctors out of the woodwork. I foresee an end to all problems with Healthcare access in the near future.

Not true. See section 4 of the 25th amendment.

I love how elections make experts out of everyone. Usually, everyone becomes an expert political scientist and pollster. Now they've all become doctors, too.

That primarily exists to deal with eg incapacity. It would require the Vice President as well as others to declare she is incapable of performing her duties. If she objected it would also require two thirds of both houses of Congress. Realistically short of eg entering a coma that isn't going to occur.

Nobody here is suddenly claiming to be a doctor.

It's possible to think something could be bad news for Clinton without thinking you're a doctor.

Unfortunately not every American thinks Trump is a fascist demagogue. If they did he'd be out already.
