Second round of students protesting across the UK at the Tory government's intention to triple university tuition fees. And the second time that certain elements in the London protests decided to rampage, riot, and generally cause destruction and mayhem.
A police van was abandoned when the officers inside feared for their safety. The mob set on it and trashed it.
In a bizarre turn of events, a schoolgirl took it upon herself to protect the van, intimating that this is not what the protest is about; the protest should be peaceful, and the police are not the targets.
She defiantly stood her ground when many in the mob started to hurl abuse at her. She was joined by some of her friends and they formed a ring around the van.
I found this act very moving.
