In the future, the Berlin wall will be a mile high, and made of steel. You too will be made to crawl, to lick children's blood from jackboots. There will be no creativity, only productivity. Instead of love there will be fear and distrust, instead of surrender there will be submission. Contact will be replaced with isolation, and joy with shame. Hope will cease to exist as a concept. The Earth will be covered with steel and concrete. There will be an electronic policeman in every head. Your children will be born in chains, live only to serve, and die in anguish and ignorance.
The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference.

Would the guffawing continue if it was Big O getting all sparkly or is the humor only in giving the Twilight Treatment to Republicans?

Lets wait till Big O compares gay sex to adultery, polygamy, child molestation, incest, sodomy, and bestiality, before we jump on the woe to be a republican boat

Wow...so we can only glitter those you disagree with?

Well I think Class Warfare is worthy of Glitter too, so Mother may I? Or would I just be a racist for disagreeing with him?

Why do I feel like you're trolling considering I've displaying a firmer grasp of the fabulous concept behind this than you are Did you show this level of ignorance with the Bush shoe throwing? Curious how protest action like this would play with someone you agree with. Sure there is glitter everywhere when you're sitting through something like Hamburger Mary's, but that seems more like the root instead of the shame when you're looking at intention.

If you pegged Obama with a hand full of glitter and somehow made a damn lick of sense tying it to class warfare, or a class warfare that he is conducting ()... then sure, I may laugh at him instead of you, but thats a damn tall order you've set in front of yourself.

What's the analogue for the class warfare? Rich people throwing money at poor people?

You know, you might be on to something here!

(What would poor people throw at rich people? Roaches and medical bills? Food stamps?)

Aw, no one wanted to make fun of Gingrich for his moon lunacy. His grandiose ego has a way of erupting, and he just can't help it, like it did for Florida's "space coast" audience. By the end of [his] second term, there will be a permanent space station on the moon....and it will be American!

WTF? He can't even address our earthly immigration problems, but he's already promising US citizenship for lunar 'farmers', and making the moon our 51st state?

In between the constant flow of "can i vote there" questions, found this on slashdot:
"The composer of the Survivor hit Eye of the Tiger has sued Newt Gingrich to stop the Republican presidential candidate from using the Rocky III anthem at campaign events. The lawsuit was filed Monday in federal court in Chicago by Rude Music Inc., the Palatine-based music publishing company owned by Frank Sullivan, who, with Jim Peterik, composed the song and copyrighted it in 1982. The lawsuit states that as early as 2009, Gingrich has entered rallies and public events to the pulsing guitar riffs of the song. In a lengthy section of the five-page complaint, Rude's attorneys point out that Gingrich is well aware of copyright laws, noting he is listed as author or co-author of more than 40 published works and has earned between $500,000 to $1 million from Gingrich Productions, a company that sells his written work, documentaries and audio books. It also notes Gingrich's criticism of the 'Stop Online Piracy Act' during a recent debate in South Carolina, where Gingrich suggested the law was unnecessary because 'We have a patent office, we have copyright law. If a company finds it has genuinely been infringed upon, it has the right to sue.' The suit asks for an injunction to prevent Gingrich from using the song, as well as damages and attorneys' fees to be determined by the court."

So, you are laughing at someone who was against SOPA, I find that ironic.

Laughing more towards the general trend of these over the past few years. SOPA doesn't have much to do with this, aside from the property owner here going about this the current and correct way.

What about a moon prison? It could be the new Australia.

Might be the only place Gingrich can get elected.

Did I miss the memo or is CNN blatantly violating election norms by reporting partial results before the polls close? They've done it in Florida and now they're doing it in Nevada...

Trolling? Ignorance? Really? Because I have the temerity to disagree with you?

I dislike this type of protest period. Social Suck Up Santorum does not get my support, nor does he get my empathy.

Tactics like this show that the blood thrower, glitter bomber, and egg tosser have lost the verbal argument and need to show a physical response, but have enough brains to not lay a hand on the target of their hate. It's immature and only makes the immature giggle.

I'm sure there is a joke in this about trying to have a debate with a conservative politician thats coasting on media attention...

Taking your claim at face would basically rule out every time of protest...ever.

Not sure, but I think caucuses and primaries don't have the same FEC rules as general elections. Probably because they're run by the parties and not not state (?)

  28. #178
I was talking about unwritten rules adopted by the media, not necessarily legal rules. After all, the reason for those formal rules in general elections is that having the media announce the winner before the polls close can bias the election result. I would imagine the same logic applies to primaries.

  29. #179
Twitter feeds move faster than cable news media, though. According to your logic about bias, all social media would be suspended until every caucus was closed. Even though states like Nevada have flexible caucus hours. That doesn't sound plausible.

  30. #180
The social media doesn't conduct detailed exit polls that correlate nearly perfectly with final results.
