The very same Draugr I'm guaranteed to see when entering any Nordic ruins, or just about any cave or dark hollow in Skyrim. Have you been in any Nordic ruins Mr. College Professor?

Those f--king necromancers. Look, I have a shambling corpse next to me too, obviously I don't care about you raising the dead, pilfering corpses, or whatever you're doing in this dungeon so stop attacking me.

Nazeem, I could kill you with an axe I got from the Jarl himself, so please, stop acting like I haven't been to the Cloud District.

Oooh going to check out Planet Side 2.

Been playing Dishonored. Was trying to avoid killing people... then I screwed up one last time and said "#($*#($ it" and started my murderous rampage. So much less stressful.

Rather pissed off. Went to install a game compilation I don't believe I've ever played since buying it (new) ... Command & Conquer - The First Decade.

Opened the case and there was no manual there. Tried to install but first thing it asks for is a CD Key of course. Not got it and don't know why not. Bought it during a sale years ago and never got around to it until now and now I can't

On the bright side, it's not hard to find CD keys.
Keep on keepin' the beat alive!

I've honestly never tried and wouldn't know where to start. If you could PM me a link I'd appreciate it as I did buy this brand new.

Google found a site for me. The game needed about 8 Product Keys during the installation for different editions of the games.

I've never much seen the use of Product Keys as copy protection, except where its activated/played etc online. Pirated versions of games don't generally have the product key requirement as that's removed with the CD being present requirement so it just irritates the legitimate purchasers. For single player, offline games I just don't see the point of the key at all.

EA, as far as I know, has always packaged their collections like this. They don't do anything to repackage (code wise) the individual games and just throw them onto a cd or DVD with a custom launcher. The cd keys are generally printed on a 3x5 and thrown into the box somewhere.

Pirated games also generally still have a cdkey check, it's just to hard to find all the times a game may try to check for it, but pirated games generally don't go online so the pirate will package a cd key into their installer so the end user doesn't have to enter one, but even that's rare.

    I'm playing Bioshock Infinite.

It's not quite the second coming the critics are hailing it as, but it's very good..

The things that could have back-fired badly, like Elizabeth as a constant companion and the skyline combat actually work really well, so that is nice.

And yeah, yeah, SystemShock2wasbetteromg...I still like the Bioshock series

The ending is a bit confusing. Liked the short stint in Rapture, though

Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the lamb make thee?

Lumines: Electronic Symphony. Vita version of the hit from the PSP.

A great but gradual step forward. Still as addictive and enjoyable as the first. Also nice to feel that I still have the moves and mindset to rock at it. Unlocked several trophies within the first couple minutes of play.

Age of Empires II: Age of Kings.

Revisited this gem. Have had a lot of fun with it throughout my childhood. These times I like to experiment a bit with the standard games. I played as Byzantines piled up against 7 teamed opponents on hardest. This is a mode where you pretty much won't survive even against a single opponent, but I wanted to try and create the ultimate fortress with resource cheats. Selected an island themed level, to gain some time before they would collectively attack me. Unfortunately another player was located on my island, so I had to switch between rapid building and small advances against it. In the end though, I managed to build a pretty decent base. I had dual stone walls, with bombard towers every 5th slot along the way. In between the bombard towers I would place trebuchets, because of their longest range in the game. Unluckily I figured they would not auto-attack the opponents units, only buildings. The solution became to order a downfall point where they would consistently shoot. Since they were so many, I could create a solid parameter in the ocean where the ships would attack (due to it being an island themed map).

What was next to come amazed me. Having set 250 as the population limit, it seems the hardest difficulty Ai (a really intelligent Ai based on how old the game is), decided that it would pile down my walls first. So apparently it decided to muck up 250 units in attack ships per team. So with the seven opponents, I was looking at 1750 ship units attacking simultaneously. I say units because ships take more than one person slot, so how many there were is innumerate, but I can state as very much that they were dominating major parts of the ocean using the giant size maps. It didn't even feel like Age of Empires anymore. It had evolved into something far greater.

... And then the game froze. First time since Windows 98.

They are releasing a Steam enabled "HD" version within a couple of weeks. Looking forward to it, but it won't be the same without The Zone.

Based on the trailer, it seems they changed the water effects and fire effects some. As for the resolution, I've played AoE II with 1920x1080 a long time already. Also got the Forgotten Empires expansion, an unofficial pack made by fans that include a lot of new populations, technologies and maps.

Started playing Path of Exile recently. It's a F2P Diablo clone that's better than Diablo 3 in a lot of ways. The company is the most hardcore anti-P2W one I've ever seen doing a F2P game, which is nice.

Path of Exile is one of those games I'm afraid to touch cause I'm sure I'll get sucked in to deep. The skill tree is insane.

The skill tree really is one the best parts of the game. Just go get yourself sucked in.

Came out 2 days ago. Didn't realise.

As a big fan of the first, which I played to death, am downloading this. Mooted to be a big improvement over the first too ...

A combination of Battle of Wesnoth and Fire Emblem Awakening. Both have their strong points and weaknesses. One is free though.

For some bizarre reason I had a sudden urge to download ...

... and I didn't play either System Shock or the first Bioshock.

Great game! Just started playing it and got through act 1. An obvious Diablo clone but really really well done.

Yep I restarted too. Seems more fun the second time round.

Playing Stardrive a bit. Finally getting a hang of the economic system - I wasn't expecting the high maintenance costs on most of the buildings. I'm sure I'm still missing a few other gameplay mechanics too.

Also, if you like Path of Exile, take a look at Torchlight II if you haven't already. Steam occasionally puts it on sale for $15 or $20, and its made by the former Blizzard North crew, the D1 and D2 makers. The graphics aren't stunning, but the effect is well composed IMO. It also has built in mod support, and the developer tools were recently released.

Post your Stardrive opinions in the Stardrive thread

There's a few of wanting to know a bit more about it before purchasing.

I've been a little put off by the Metacritic reviews - a lot of people saying they seem to have to spend too much time twiddling and tweaking the ship build.

Ordered a Wonderbook and Book of Spells from BestBuy this morning for $3. Unless BestBuy screws up the in store pick up, I'll be playing that tonight with the kids.

  27. #2427
Well called that. Even though I still have a pending charge on my card, BestBuy has no record of my order this morning. Had to buy the game in person. That did at least allow me to use my rewards certificates, which the website wouldn't accept this morning.

The game is fun, lots of good humor, got an ad-libs element to it, but I'm not seeing much replay so far. Seems like a bunch of cheap trophies for my account at this point.
Really wish Sony had better pricing and marketing. Concepts like this and Eye Of Judgement were way better and more interesting than the never ending river of exercise games the Kinect has.

Okay, everyone who hasn't taken a look at Brütal Legend yet definitely missed something!

Which you can pick up as part of the Double Fine Humble Bundle, if you think its worth $9. Wait for the Steam summer sale, or pick it up used from gamestop for $5.

IMO stacking + brutal legend for $9 is a great deal.

Brütal. It's Brütal. With an 'ü'.

    Important.
