Have fun on your trip, EJ. When you return, make sure to tell us....if you could tell which beach beauties were au naturale or took advantage of Brazil's generous plastic surgery industry. Gosh, talk about their meat market.

I will try, but as my GF is with my I won't be able to have feel on them, so my trained eye needs to do the job.

Tell you're picking one up for me, and have to feel them out to make sure I'll like the one you pick. I'll wire you the money on delivery.

Mom won an iPad 2 and a black Kindle with Special Offers in the same week. She figured that since she already has the kindle, a desktop (that she also won), and a laptop, she doesn't need the iPad.

So I've got a new iPad 2 Now to find some free crap to throw on it.

Starting to approach my best physical shape ever. The army has really been a motivator for me to run, run and run. I've also added 5 kg of muscle mass in the last two months. The mental part is what I'm the bravest about. Rather than working out becoming easier when you get friskier, I force myself to increase the intensity and endure hell each time. Today I ran a 3000m route 1 minute and 28 seconds faster than two months ago.

Tips? There wasn't even a bartender half of the time

I find it brilliant when there are daring anime productions taking a completely new direction. This one, Nodame Cantabile, is about classical music. Its ability to mesmerize me took me completely by surprise. Playing 8 minutes of nearly unedited Rachmaninoff in an episode is almost brave.

Three minutes in, the speaker says Rachmaninoff is an "unknown" composer? Maybe that's a comment just to keep kids watching?

I think it's about damn time anime productions did the same for other long-haired composers like Mozart, Beethoven, Vivaldi, Satie. To keep youth interested in "old music", with a fresh twist

Most likely he was talking about the main character, Shinichi Chiaki, who plays the piano in the clip. He's unknown despite his talent, as he studies to become a conductor above all.

Nodame Cantabile is excellent in that respect. It features a splendid slice of life drama with both silly & serious characters, and gradually entices you to like classical music. It's much thanks to that they describe it as a talented and requiring occupation, along with the audience being left in awe at each performance, that makes you think of it as something beautiful. It's very theatrical and I dare say you get a bigger impression here than hearing a random piece live.

I've always liked classical, but sure, I was introduced to a lot of artists through the series. Liszt, Gerschwin, Debussy, Richard Strauss and Schubert to be specific about those I were oblivious of before. All the recordings were done by famous orchestras, like Vienna Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra and Berlin Philharmonic. Even more delighting is that the openings for each season are improvised classical pieces with added lyrics.

Just received confirmation from HR of my redundancy payment from the Bank.

    They're giving me more than a year's take-home salary.

I sent in all my scraps, bench sweeps (gold dust), polishing dust, etc. for refining. Gold jumped a bit, and I got the call today for my cash out! I can pay off my taxes AND my lawyer! Now down to just the one burden of the loan! This made me very, very, happy today!

The cool thing too, is all this scrap was collected within a year and a half, and I can look forward to returns like this every year and a halfish! That's kinda cool!

Hey Bitter! We used to know a dentist who saved all the gold dust and chips from his practice. Years later, after he had enough, he contracted with a jeweler to make an awesome custom anniversary ring for his wife. Sounded creepy, and not sure if she knew the gold had come from peoples' mouths and dental work. But gold is gold, I guess.

My dentist has recommended that I make sure (when I die) to have the gold crowns taken from my mouth before I'm cremated, and pass it to my sons in my Will. Apparently, there's enough to make something from it (seeing how much the crowns cost, that makes sense). Creepy, huh.

Blade Runner is getting a sequel (prequel) directed by Ridley Scott. Guys, I've never been more excited for anything else in my life. I am serious.

Mom just won a fucking Camaro. 2011 Camaro Convertible.

Now to make sure my sister doesn't snake it out from under her, and that she keeps it, or sells it so we can use the cash for a house down payment. Man, taxes on that are going to be a bitch.

Mom turned down the Camaro and is taking the cash prize instead. Car is an RS valued at $37,000 so once she drove it off the lot she would hard pressed to sell it used for more than the $27,000 she is getting in cash after taxes. Going to use the cash for some reconstructive surgery and then put the rest aside for a down payment on a new home.
