Default A fresh opportunity for US "conservatives" to debase themselves

Where will his spineless closet-racist enablers draw the line? The way this is going, it almost feels like they're past the point of no return, beyond all hope of redemption. This is a flavor of racism that should've been left in the 50s, but, here it is, in 2019, being pushed by a mainstream cable network. Frankly, it's embarrassing.

If they can't find their spines when he attacks war heroes, do you really think going after people who aren't white is going to bother them?

Snips from my local news' facebook page, no idea how many are local or even american, or astroturfed and russian.

    Straight racist insanity.

Genuinely can't get over how completely the republican establishment has surrendered to (or embraced) overt racism against Americans. Such political cowardice. It's just so absurdly scummy.

The racism was always there, the only new part is 'overt'.

I've seen only 1 Republican member of Congress condemn these tweets without simultaneously calling them justified.

Gutless. Utterly gutless. And the regular citizens who support them and excuse their conduct... well.

Republican voters are precisely the reason Republican politicians refuse to condemn Trump. A more detailed account: https://www.vox.com/policy-and-polit...ib-republicans

These comments are despicable and can never be justified.

I'd say 2 (Hurd, Olson), with the 3rd (Cornyn) calling it an unforced error thats not worth talking about because trump is going to be trump.

    Trump was racist.

Saying "why don't you go back to where you come from" to someone born in The Bronx is racist pure and simple.

Crenshaw also mentioned the rhetoric in politics being out of control on twitter:

"*CBP agents aren't Nazis running concentration camps
    *Pelosi isn't racist
*POTUS shouldn't suggest Congresswomen should leave because of their rhetoric

    Exhausting."

If you can't denounce racism without engaging in bothsidism, you're a racist. It's as simple as that.

I think most people understand if you believe you can reflexively call a white woman a racist simply because they are white it is pretty damn clear.

Yes Lewk, people being unfairly called racists is the real problem facing America.

This whole thing only shows how great this Free Speech thing is working - yeah, countering bad speech with more speech is just the thing!

If a white person (Pelosi) insults a minority and the minority calls her a racist when the same criticism by a non-white person would not lead to the minority calling the non-white person a racist than the minority is racist. It is that simple. Treating people of a different skin color differently like that is pure racism.

If your instinctual response is to assume a person is racist because of their skin color you are the racist.

I'm still lost of how you've taken Trump's racist remarks and landed on Pelosi. Unless you're entire point of quoting Crenshaw was so you could mindlessly rant some more after getting called out for miscounting.

    Yes, yes it is! 100%.

Giving someone like Trump dictatorial powers to ban speech he doesn't like, the "fake news" who cries about impotently, would not be a positive you silly fool.

Yeah, because all that condemnation he's currently facing is working sooooo well in keeping him contained.

lmao crenshaw is a lying derphead and the most laughable poser in Congress so it's not surprising that lewk has such a boner for him that he'd post his weaksauce limpdick statement.

This, however, is a clearer statement of the Republican approval of Trump's racism:

"One day, we shall die. All the other days, we shall live."

Yes it is. It is firing up his opposition who have already taken one of the branches of government away from him (the House of Congress) which had been GOP for the past eight years.

In fact he's firing attacks at Congresswomen because they are frustrating him. The system works.

If it wasn't for the First Amendment if POTUS had a way to clamp down on free speech he would try to do so and that is why free speech is fundamentally important.

I know you wrote that yesterday but the BBC is quoting a few. Good on them. Mitt Romney, Tim Scott and Will Hurd are specifically quoted.

Mitt Romney blamed "both sides." And refused to call the comments racist.
