    I get where you're coming from, but that's a bit hit-and-miss, and ultimately there appears to be little in the way of accountability and punishment that can help deter both officials and legislators. Odds of republican senators losing to democratic candidates aren't infinitesimal, but they are low in comparison to the odds for reps.

    Ultimately, all branches of government are responsive to the people. And if the majority of voters want their elected officials to be scumbags, there's nothing you can really do. You can try going through the courts, but A) they'll probably rule against you, and B) the immoral majority will find a way to bypass their decisions. In the end, the only mechanism for change is elections. And if non-Lewks can't be bothered to vote, they deserve everything they get and then some (except the cases where the Lewks go out of their way to prevent them from voting).
