Thread: What is making you happy right now

  1. #61
I got called back to work. I was given a one week suspension over two weeks ago. In order to help with the money issue that sparked the comments that led my suspension; Ive been tranferred from the shop to the install crew. More dough, but the work and the hours suck. I'll have to be out of town a lot, but the alternative was unemployment.

Scribblenauts may possibly be the most entertaining video game I have ever played.

Sadly, my son took his DS away from me now. He watched me the whole time I was playing, and told me he was proud of me when I solved puzzles (they aren't that complex, but it appears to reward you for more creative solutions).

Have to muck around with it again when he's at school.

*ugh* I am still working long hours nearly 7 days a week. It's like it's still Xmas...

My honey has wednesdays off, and tonight he made me an amazing dinner.

Braised Short Rib sandwich, with carmalized pickled onions (he pickled 'em too) and Monty Jack Cheese and arugala, on crusty grilled bread.
Also, as if that was not enough, he made soup with parsnips, kale, endive, spinach, fennel (the vegetable), a touch of dill, a little lemon juice and Feta cheese.

    He also did laundry.

This was so nice to come home to, after a long tiring day (12.5 hours).
My husband is teh awesome, and all the gay marriage haters can suck it!

I drove my parent's van today, and the odometer passed 100,000.
When they bought the car, I wasn't even five yet.

Your fella' seems as thoughtful and loving as my gal. My 14 hour install, with a 4 hour drive (each way) had me burnt to a crisp, frazzled, and frustrated. When I got home she put fresh sheets on the bed (it's been very cold so, warm sheets) and foot massage till I passed-out. What a woman, heh?

First week of work done, and the job's going great! I always like doing these non-game projects, it gives me a different perspective on design and programming. Games are always gun gun gun gun cutscene boss fight.

Fotki sent me some "upgrade" spam, but because of it, I found my pictures of my old Honda delSol. Now to find pictures of my custom painted Nissan 240SX and I'll feel complete again!

Oh dear, my children are making me laugh again.

girlchild: I think Timmy (the cat, damn it) likes me very much.
    me: Of course he does
girlchild: Maybe that's because I'm wearing makeup
    me: Are you wearing makeup?
    girlchild: No. May I?
boychild: You can't wear makeup until you're older than mom, because she's still not allowed to.

Getting a haircut soon! Maybe I'll post before/after pictures. Well actually, probably won't. My hair is not being nice to me right now and I don't think I want pictures to remember it.

During a recent technology audit, it was found that my co-worker was using
    the following password:

    "MickeyMinniePlutoHueyLouieDeweyDonaldGoofySacrame nto"

When asked why such a long password, she said she was told that it had to be
at least 8 characters long and include at least one capital.

    What? It's monday morning.

I'm getting mixed messages here. Engaging selective observation to conclude that was funny.

    With that in mind ....

The inventor Arthur Davidson, of the Harley Davidson Motorcycle Corporation,
died and went to heaven. At the gates, St. Peter told Arthur,
"Since you've been such a good man and your motorcycles have changed the world, your reward is, you can hang out with anyone you want in Heaven." Arthur thought about it for a minute and then said, "I want to hang out with God." St. Peter took Arthur to the Throne Room, and introduced him to God. Arthur then asked God, "Hey, aren't you the inventor of woman?" God said, "Ah, yes." "Well, " said Arthur, "professional to professional, you have some major design flaws in your invention:
1.. There's too much inconsistency in the front-end protrusion.
2.. It chatters constantly at high speeds.
3.. Most of the rear ends are too soft and wobble too much.
4.. The intake is placed way to close to the exhaust and finally,
5.. The maintenance costs are outrageous."
"Hmmmm, you may have some good points there," replied God, "hold on." God went to his Celestial super computer, typed in a few words and waited for the results. The computer printed out a slip of paper and God read it. "Well, it may be true that my invention is flawed," God said to Arthur, "but according to these numbers, more men are riding my invention than yours.

I was at a bar saturday night, not much special happened, had a drink, danced a bit, went home alone. Today I got a message on a dating site from a guy that he'd seen me but had been too shy to approach me because I looked so self-confident. He added that I'm a great dancer
    Congratulations America

One of the deals NewEgg is advertising for Valentine's Day is the Hitachi Magic Hand Massager...

I was more curious for how they consider Mirror's Edge for $9.99 a Valentine's deal...

I went grocery shopping. That in itself isn't so exciting, until...

I spent more on yogurt than I did on meat (3 pounds of chicken, 2 pounds, of ground beef, a pork tenderloin, and a kielbasa).

And we'll almost certainly be out of yogurt long before the meat is gone.

A lot of yogurt, expensive yogurt, or cheap meat?

I'm happy that finished reading Double Bind by Menaechmi just in time for class.

    Cheap yogurt, meat on sale.

It's a lot of fucking yogurt. It's a popular consumable at my house.

Lolli, have you ever made your own yogurt?

No, Geegee, I haven't. Might be interesting to do, though.
