I've been logging into Playstation@Home almost nightly for months now. They almost always have some new contest or something free to give away. Yet I wasn't able to find time to turn the PS3 on yesterday, and whatever karma points I used up to be that lucky I'm grateful for.
Thanks for these huge companies not knowing how to program internal clocks around leap years, the older PS3s are failing in every which way except bricking. Can't connect to the Playstation Network, can't connect to multiplayer games, can't play single player games. I won't be turning mine back on untill Sony gives the all clear.
So I give you this:

I've come to the conclusion that the amount of bullshit Sony attempts to pull with brand lock-in and proprietary formats is the inverse of the size of the intended market. For instance:
Size of Market - PS3 > Sony PSP 2000/3000 > Sony PSP Go
Amount of brand lock-in/proprietary formats - Sony PSP Go > Sony PSP 2000/3000 > PS3

Well, knowing how expensive it is to make a design and get artwork ... they didn't make those just for the heck of it.
