    Indeed of course that all matters though there's a reason why I emphasised Senators and Governors not Congressmen as the former traditionally are a lot more independent than the latter.

    He is A leader of the Republican Party.

    The House Majority Leader and Speaker of the House of Representatives amongst others are other Leaders of the Republican Party.

    No but it is how the elected Representatives, Senators, Governors, State Senators, State Representatives etc see it. Versus GGT's suggestion that they should "jump ship" simply going against Trump is more plausible than jumping ship.
