That's four decent planets in one system, with only one other system in the sector making it easily defended. Potentially strategically important.

    Highly fertile:
Just one in this category, a planetary rocky at M34:34:68:20 an F6/M3/S3/G2. I do know a Borg guy was sniffing around it while exploring.
    Sector 44
    M34:44:19:20 planetary rocky S3/F6/M3/G2/C0
    M34:44:44:20 planetary rocky S3/F6/M3/G2/C0

    M34:44:78:30 planetary rocky S2/F6/M3/G2/C0
    M34:44:85:22 moon rocky S3/F6/M3/G2/C0
    Reasonable fertility:

M34:34:78:30 planetary crater, F5/M3/S2/G1/C1 a bit low on energy
    M34:34:14:20 planetary crater, F5/M3/S3/G1/C1
    M34:34:07:20 planetary crater, F5/M3/S3/G1/C1
M34:34:60:21 moon crater, F5/M3/S4/G2/C1 good energy but smaller
    M34:34:60:10 planetary rocky, F5/M3/S4/G2
    M34:34:04:32 moon metallic, F5/M3/S3/G1/C1
    M34:34:14:21 moon metallic, F5/M3/S3/G1/C1
    Sector 44

    Low fertility
M34:34:68:52 moon metallic, F4/M3/S0/G3/C1 only on the list because its comparatively high gas

Oh, and also there's M34:34:82:21 moon crystalline in my home system, F5/M2/S3/G1/C3 but I really hope to nab that as my first new base.

    addition:
    M34:32:04:20 3/6/3/2/0
    M34:32:50:20 3/6/3/2/0
    M34:32:92:20 3/5/3/2/1
M34:32:91:20 3/5/3/2/1 (but probably taken soon)
    M34:42:24:20 3/5/3/1/1

General guideline: I think the best planet would be in the second orbit from the sun. This gives it +3 solar power, and +1 fertility. Other than that, Crystal is rare but good for money, all the otehr ones are fairly common I think. Moons are smaller, making them cheaper to protect later on - but since we have a limit on the number of astros, they are smaller, too. I think ideal is at least +5 fertility, so a crystallite in the second or third orbit would fit that.

I've been watching other players, and they seem to be going for the high fertility metal=3 planets first. We should probably follow their lead, if just to make sure that they're not all gone by the time we get to them.

Woudln't it be a good idea to have one crystallite to earn a lot of cash, and #3 to be highly fertile metal?

That's what I'm doing, but the fertile metals are going fast. I'm about to take the last fertility 6 metal 3 planet with decent energy that I know about, and I've scanned 9 sectors now.

ALso I would recommend rock rather than metallic - 1 less crystal but one more fertility

    M34:15:51:20 is a F5/M3/S3 planet

That's all the stuff that wasn't occupied and stuck out for me in Region 15. Moving on to 16. Should we coordinate regions for scouting?

I updated my post with fertile metallic and rocky stuff in my region - seems there is plenty left

I've also scouted region 43, listed the crystallites and the one planet that seemed very good. Off to 44 now!

It looks to me like the rocky ones with 6 fertility, 3 solar an metal, and 2 gas are the best. But should I first go to a crystalline one for the moneyz?

I also like Rand's suggestion on the board to build a base in a new sector - free scouting!

They tried to recruit me. I'm not too worried about them, I think they just send invites to everyone. They will have terrible coordination and won't be able/willing to help each other out much. If we wanted, we could probably rip them apart piecemeal.

M34:34:60:21 moon crater, F5/M3/S4/G2/C1 good energy but smaller
Rocky at 34:60:10 got outposted by someone else.

So no one knows crystal planets with 5 fertility that aren't claimed yet? Oh well, still have a few hours until I've finished the crazy expensive shipyards..

    Region 06:

    M34:06:85:20 3/5/3/2/1 Metallic Planet
    M34:06:85:21 3/6/3/2/0 Rocky moon
    M34:06:85:23 3/6/3/2/0 Rocky moon
M34:06:48:10 4/5/2/4/0 Magma planet, lotsa energy
    M34:06:48:20 3/5/3/1/1 Crater Planet
    M34:06:48:21 3/6/3/2/0 Rocky moon

Moving on to 17. Hey, people-who-haven't-posted here. You can scout your entire home planet's region by looking at the map. It should allow us to amass a map of the top three rows of the galaxy in short order.

Might be useful to sort mine by region as well (the second number in the coordinates)

I think we should take over region 3, system 78. Good rocks there, and Wraith's right about the strategic value. I'll probably send my first outpost in that direction.

I'm sending my fourth outpost ship there (though with slow outpost speeds, it'll probably be my fourth colony instead of my fifth). Which planet did you want to take?

Are we interested in asteroids at all? 34:37:00 has three untouched asteroids M3/G2/C2 and Random has an F5/M3 planet there.

Asteroids are a bad call unless you're upgrading your account - land area is too small.

Wraithy - I was hoping for 21 or 23, but I'm also okay with 20. I suspect no one will try dislodging/occupying us if we have 3 or 4 bases there in one guild - they can so easily/quickly reinforce.

Meh, you might still want one asteroid for a command center and defensive bastion.
Last night as I lay in bed, looking up at the stars, I thought, “Where the hell is my ceiling?"
