Not very many - yet the forum keeps going.

Blog appetite has been lost.

Any more ideas for attracting members? Does no one post regularly on other blogs or forums where there's a cheap opportunity to link to a discussion here?

Just did a quick check, by forum logs we've had exactly 50 unique users with post counts (i.e., not bots) log in during the past week, increasing to 57 when expanded to the past month.

The community has seemed reluctant to attempt to attract/welcome new membership in the past, but I'll support and do my part in anything that's come up with for grabbing new peoples.

I did some quick checks, saw Psilon, Parmenio, Marby, Cracky, Asmodian, Kerberos. There's probably more, but I'm too lazy to do a full list comparison. Looks it's people who've posted in the past, but not so much recently. Last time I cared enough to check, there were also a number of regular human visitors who never seem to log in for whatever reason.

I don't want to distract from your main point though. We just posting links from other places?

edit: I'll change the "active members" thing at the bottom of the forum to exclude bots this weekend so everyone has an easy to access accurate count.

Though having 23 regulars doesn't seem too bad, the reality is that people are interested in different topics, or got bored to responding to certain other regulars, or dislike certain other regulars. In the end, there are rarely lengthy discussions involving more than 3-4 people (if that).

I don't see a huge need for new members - fresh blood and a unique perspective is good but I see this forum living for awhile even if no one new comes. Debating current events keeps things fresh because current events keep changing.
