It's more of a demo pretending to be a beta. The beta deletes your city every hour, and has all the stuff that looks like it could be interesting locked away, so it's hard to tell. From what they do let players look at, meh, probably not.

It's always-online now. But yes, multiplayer of a sort.

Someone isn't having much fun with this aspect, combined with EA's horrible attitude towards gamers.

Looks like they hired Timmeh to run their boards.

I used a simple hex editor in SimCity 2000 to get more money. Haha the 1337 hax0r!!!111

Why use a hex editor when you can use porntipsgizzardo? It's literally sexier.

Because hacking makes you feel prouder than cheating.

Is that $80 for one of the limited editions? If not - seems v expensive ...

UK normal edition costs £34.99 (~$50-$55), and the UK is normally more expensive ...

Anyway. The more videos and clips and stuff I read about this, the more want I have. Sim Cities are normally a bit ... directionless. Just zone stuff and watch it grow, sticking in the odd utility here and there. Not very involving.

I played a lot of the original Sim City (1989-1990!) and quite a bit of Sim City 2000 back in the early days of PC gaming, but 3000 and 4 in later years grew dull quickly.

This latest incarnation seems to have much more focus and direction.

Out Friday 8th March here. Think I'll book myself out of doing anything else that weekend. Toilet breaks, eats and sleeps optional.

EA likes to call it the "digital deluxe"

it contains the full city sets and all the characters.
the type of stuff Maxis used to let you download for free.

Oh ok. Yep, that edition is £65 here, so around ~$90

    As you were, all normal

And the price of video games haven't kept up with inflation... so its been deluxe, "legendary" and DLC that is being added on into games these days.

This has inspired me to look for ROMs of Sim City 2000 for Android...

So who is playing the Beta? Wraith and Lolli?

Thoughts? Any good? Are you sucked in?
