Clearly the point of the statement is this: if Loki and I ever met, there would be some stuff we would have to discuss before we could sit down for some civil drinking. I'm working under the assumption that Loki would back down and not call me a rapist or racist in public, to my face. That's even if he's much larger and badder than I am, which would not be an exceptional feat given my age and health. There are very few people of Loki's background who will say such things in public. So,I dramatize the cowardice of hiding behind the internets to say such things.
Well they are generally based on things which are likely to eventually cause misfortune or death for yourself and others, so applicable in the real world still.

I remember that thread, he asked a hypothetical or something to make a point, and instead of responding in any sane way you spent the rest of the thread trying to convince everyone he called you a rapist. Do you really think it's so easy to trick everyone else here into taking your side?

Oh man am I going to regret this, but I found the thread in question. It was tough, because - and I'm not exagerating here - there were more than a hundred posts where Tear brings it up, and I had to find the exactly one of those where Loki actually did it. Posting this now that the shitstorm has apparently died down is probably an absolutely terrible idea, but I didn't get where I am by making good judgement calls, so here it goes!
Quick summary, Tear was attacking Palin's wardrobe, had called her a 'tart', and basically this is what started the whole thing:

A bit later, he makes a post that uses hyperbole to claim that Tear was employing the same logic rapists use- and this was a remarkably stupid argument on Loki's part, but I thought it was obvious what he was saying. It turns out that Nessus was the first to make a thing out of this in the usual dogpile-on-loki fashion, and Tear's first response was actually fairly reasonable! But this was dogpile season.
For those who just really want to win arguments and believe terrible things about Loki, it's possible that one could interpret Loki's most offensive post in that thread as suggesting Tear was thinking about committing rape, but that's a clear stretch IMO. In case you came to that conclusion, Loki clarifies it three times in separate posts.
I was wrong before when I suggested it devolved into a flamefest over that post. It actually wasn't dwelled upon, and everyone moved past Loki's stupid attempt at being clever and incisive relatively quickly. It seemed to be completely dropped after Loki made it clear for the third time that he was not claiming Tear was a rapist. I must have been thinking of one of the apparent multitude of other threads that became about that post.
So, is it fair that this misunderstanding of one of Loki's more ill-advised posts - and at this point, it could only be intentional since Loki clarified multiple times what he meant - continue to be brought up in every single fucking thread a year and a half later?
edit: Especially given that none of the participants in that thread can apparently even remember anything about it anymore?
