With so many recently looking for it, and given it's apparent size, it's odd nobody's found it yet. I wonder if it could be a smallish black hole... then nobody would probably ever find it. At least not with current or foreseeable future technology.

It would have to be a really small black hole, the kind that could only have formed during the Big Bang. Wouldn't a black hole that size have Hawking'd itself out of existence by now, though?

I dunno. I think I read as much some time back.

Flixy's probably right -- planet 9's theorized orbit takes it plenty far away, so if it's far out on it's orbital path, it could be almost totally blacked out.
