The real takeaway is that Trump didn't believe any good numbers under Obama (Fake News, rigged system) yet when the same agencies, using the same methods, have good numbers under Trump it's cause for celebration, and he'll take all the credit.

Some serious accusations there. Good thing Obama told us there was no voter fraud.

The last sentence said no individual votes or aggregate vote totals were (or appeared to be) manipulated.

But there was hacking that changed some voter registration data. That might explain why some people had problems at polling stations, and were required to cast "provisional" ballots until things could be sorted out. Combined with state changes in voter ID laws, some people probably didn't vote at all, even though they were eligible.

Trump hasn't fully acknowledged the hacking, let alone made it a priority to prevent it from happening again! Instead, he wasted time and resources on a commission to investigate those *millions of votes he was convinced were fraudulent*, because he lost the popular vote.

At this point I think we need a dedicated thread for this stuff.

    Aaaaaaaand he blew it. Moron.

I wonder what they'll do with the coins they already printed to celebrate a successful North Korea-US summit.

I mean, the idiot wanted a peace summit, then didn't reign his people in and also, for some idiotic reason, held a joint military maneuver near NK. And then promptly wonders why Kim Jong Un doesn't like being threatened.

I can't decide if I want to give credit to china and north korea for playing this idiot like the damn fool he is, or split the credit between Bolton's assholery and Trump's mouth in screwing this up in a way only they could.

Expected outcome. Better than failure at the summit level. The cock-up was already established, there was no way this would've ended as anything but a cock-up.

Trump's statements these past couple of weeks make it clearer than ever before just how fucked up Lewk's continued support of Trump is. He's surrendered the core values of his nation for a temporary tax cut of questionable value and the vain hope of corrupting the judiciary. These people truly are the saddest fucking jackasses.

Friday morning, a reporter shouted a question to the president about a his wife’s whereabouts as he prepared to board Marine One to attend the Naval Academy commencement.

According to a pool report, President Trump responded by pointing to a window in the White House residence, and said: “She’s doing great. She’s looking at us right there.”

Reporters turned to look at the spot he indicated, but there was no sign of the first lady.

The whole blaming Dems for breaking up families is the real here. One would figure the delporables that make up his base would celebrate such a move.

No I think what he's referring to is that the families should be kept together by deporting the entire family without due process and even if the child is by birth a citizen.

If the parent/child bond is so great... why isn't the entire family moving to Mexico with the deported person? Answer: Mexico is a shit hole and the deported person will be back in a month tops because our border is porous.

We need a lot of dedicated threads for the Trump era. Too much is getting buried in this megathread

The issue is about asylum seekers being separated from babies and young children. You do know the majority aren't coming from Mexico, right?

No, Mexico is not a "shit hole". You can't expect to parrot Trump's language that way and not be called out, at least not here.
Mexico is a beautiful country, full of wonderful people, with pockets of poverty, gang violence, and corrupt politicians....just like the US.
If Mexicans do cross the border illegally to work in jobs Americans won't do (like manual labor in agriculture) it's not just due to "porous borders" but employers looking the other way, in exchange for cheap labor. No wall will solve that.

    Which part do you reject?

That Mexico is a shitty country?

That the deported will return within a month?

That the parent/child bond shouldn't be weaker than the child/nation bond?

That the entire family should be deported essentially when some of them are citizens.

Except that's not what I said. If a US citizen wants to stay they can however if breaking up families is so terrible why isn't the family moving with the deported person?

It's just one more thing, but any other federal employee would've been fired on the spot for something like this, and w/ any other president there would be an investigation.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...-are-released/

Treasury yields moved sharply higher within seconds of a tweet from Trump that said he was “looking forward to seeing the employment numbers at 8:30 this morning.” He had never issued such a tweet before. Bloomberg News data also showed that the value of the U.S. dollar moved sharply higher after the Twitter post compared with previous trades the mornings jobs data are released. That means traders were probably making investment decisions based on signals they took from Trump’s post.
Fucking banana republic. But sure, totally worth it. Who needs laws and rules and norms?

US economic recovery continuing as expected is not news. POTUS breaking laws, rules and norms in a way that can economically benefit people w/ access to insider information is news. You guzzling down the Trump kool-aid is not news, because we all know you've been receiving their talking points from whatever MAGA-swamp you hang out at to find your craptastic memes.

    Read the article.

"Trump, like past presidents, is given a preview of the sensitive report before its official release, but a 1985 directive issued by the Reagan administration requires that the executive branch not comment on the information until an hour after it is made public."

The head of the executive branch cannot curtail the powers of a future head of the executive branch. There is no legal issue here, just Trump bragging.

It was worth it man. Laws and rules and ethics and norms and relationships with allies and trade and global security are not important. Shitting Evangelical poop all over the judiciary for a generation is.

This is actually an optical illusion. The envelope is an ordinary envelope but it looks comically large. He was obv trying to show that the letter had indeed been opened.
