Nadya Suleman's octuplets have brought her plenty of fame but apparently not fortune.

The mortgage holder on the home where Suleman lives with her 14 children says it's in default on a $450,000 balloon payment. Amer Haddadin says he will file foreclosure papers within days if he doesn't get paid.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals will give her $5,000 if it can put a sign in her front yard reading, "Don't Let Your Dog or Cat Become an Octomom. Always Spay or Neuter."

Suleman's lawyer says she has accepted Peta's offer.
I'm sure releasing this gets her all the money she needs to stay in her home.

A Michigan family has put up a small town for auction on eBay, Detroit TV station WDIV reported.

Judy Fletcher co-owns the small Washington state town of Wauconda with her daughter, Daphne.

"It's kind of rural. There's nothing in any direction for 20 miles. That's it!" Fletcher said.

The town includes a post office, gas station, grocery store, restaurant and a four-bedroom house -- all on 4 acres of land.

"I painted, decorated ... it's the Spaghetti Saloon now. The restaurant has about 65 seats and is kind of a spaghetti-Western theme," Fletcher said.

Fletcher said her daughter bought the town from an older couple three years ago, and currently lives and operates the store there.

"She wants to move on to another adventure. She's writing a book and she wants to get on the road and explore the U.S.," Fletcher said. "She's been a gypsy all her life."

The eBay auction ends April 2.

Search "town for auction" on eBay to place a bid.

Girl raped and rejected by Swedish community

    Published: 26 Mar 10 12:26 CET

A storm of outrage has met revelations by Sveriges Television (SVT) that a 14-year-old girl from a small Swedish community was raped at her school only to be rejected by her friends and adult society when she reported the attack.

Sweden's education minister Jan Björklund is among those that have directed criticism at adults, the school and the church.

"We have to do everything we can to make sure that this sort of thing should not happen. It is a question of adult responsibility and moral courage," he told SVT's discussion programme Debatt.

Equality minister Nyamko Sabuni argued in her weekly newsletter that the school, the municipality and the church should be "ashamed of themselves".

The SVT Uppdrag Granskning television programme broadcast on Wednesday told the story of a 14-year-old schoolgirl, named as Linnéa, who was raped by an older pupil in the toilet of a school in Bjästa, a small town in Örnsköldsvik municipality in northern Sweden.

The girl reported the attack to Örnsköldsvik police in March 2009 and the 15-year-old boy, named as Oscar, initially denied to police that he had been in the toilet with Linnéa and that he had raped her.

After news of the rape and the police report emerged, a campaign began which divided the community - with many of the girl's and boy's friends, school teachers, and parents questioning the validity of Linnéa's story.

In interviews with SVT, community members related their theory that Linnéa had reported the rape as a form of revenge on Oscar, who she was alleged to have had an unrequited crush on.

The momentum of the campaign of rumours built up with a poster campaign in school and a Facebook group launched supporting Oscar as the community increasingly turned its back on the 14-year-old girl.

"She wanted it. I don't think he seemed like the type of person that would have to (rape someone). He is good-looking, he is nice," said one 51-year-old local resident.

The prosecutor was one of the few that doubted the growing body of public opinion which had come down against the girl, who became increasingly isolated in the town.

"Her testimony was also supported by other evidence. There was a medical forensic report and also witnesses," prosecutor Stina Sjöqvist told SVT who explained that a teacher had confirmed that he had found Linnéa in a shaken state shortly after the attack.

After his initial denials the boy eventually admitted the offence in police interviews, which were played during the SVT programme.

"I want to confess. I sat on her arms to prevent her from fleeing," Oscar told police.

In his third interview he related the full, and almost identical, version of events that Linnéa had previously submitted. He confirmed that Linnéa had told him repeatedly to stop and confirmed that he understood that his actions were carried out against her expressed will.

But two weeks later Oscar changed his version and claimed that Linnéa had consented. Despite the change in his position Oscar was convicted for the rape of a child in both the district and appeals court.

Despite the clear convictions passed down by the courts, the campaign against Linnéa continued with pupils at the school even going out on strike in support of the popular boy.

SVT reported that Oscar's brother began to maintain a blog on the case and almost 2,000 signed a petition to have the conviction overturned. Bjästa is home to 1,800 people.

Oscar's mother launched a further Facebook group to argue for Linnéa's 'guilt', soon attracting 4,000 members, many of whom arguing that the 14-year-old should be ashamed of herself.

But despite the fact that Linnéa's story remained consistent throughout, was identical to Oscar's confession, and despite the upheld conviction, the rumours persisted at the school and in the community.

The situation ultimately became unsustainable for Linnéa and her family, and she was forced to move 500 kilometres to a new school, a long way from the Örnsköldsvik community that she had grown up in.

Furthermore when the end of the school term arrived, three months later, Oscar was allowed to attend an awards ceremony in the local church service with the consent of the pastor, despite no longer attending Bjälsta school, and despite having a restraining order against him to stay aware from Linnéa.

The service ended in a vocal public demonstration in support of the 15-year-old. Film footage from the service posted by Oscar's mother on the internet, broadcast in the SVT programme, showed him passing out flowers to his former schoolmates and receiving applause and hugs in return.

The film was used as part of the campaign orchestrated by the boy's family to "free Oscar", SVT reports.

The Church of Sweden pastor, Lennart Kempe, explained his decision to allow the boy, now a convicted rapist, to participate.

"The church is open for all. There was an enormous demonstration. He had flowers with him... I thought it very courageous of him to have the strength to come here and do that," Kempe told SVT's reporter.

Linnéa was herself not in attendance at the service as her family had suspected that something of this nature would occur, and that it would be too much for the young girl to handle.

After SVT broadcast the programme on national television on Wednesday evening, Lennart Kempe has expressed regret and asked Linnéa for her forgiveness.

"I deeply regret it. I have let the girl down and should have never let the boy into the church," he told SVT's news programme Rapport.

Later that day, Oscar joined up with the his schoolmates to celebrate the end of term at a nearby beach. During the evening the boy raped a further 17-year-old girl, Jennifer.

Oscar was later convicted of the new rape. Jennifer's testimony backed up by witness statements was sufficient for the district court to pass down a guilty verdict despite his protestations of innocence.

DNA evidence was later produced in the appeals court which lent further support to the victim's version of events.

But support for Oscar remained strong in the Bjästa community despite the second rape conviction.

The campaign continued with Jennifer now taking Linneá's place at the centre of the community's ire and suspicions. Comments on the Facebook page, blog and other internet sites, which had collected 4,000 members, became more and more accusatory against the girls.

Many of the comments and threats directed at the girls were made openly by people unconcerned with hiding their identities, according to SVT.

The programme reported that not one single adult at Bjälsta school took a stand against either Oscar or the campaign or rumours that spread around the small community - neither before nor after the court convictions.

"We should stay neutral. We can not take one side or another," said Carina Fager, the teacher responsible for the school's bullying group, to SVT.

The Swedish Schools Inspectorate (Skolinspektionen) has criticised Bjästa school for not providing Linnéa with sufficient support. The discrimination ombudsman (DO) is currently investigating violations.

The school principal Inger Karlsson, as well as Carina Fager, were on Friday reported to the Parliamentary Ombudsman (JO) accused of failing in their responsibilities to support the girls and neglecting a specific policy that requires the school to act to tackle internet smear campaigns.

"It is quite clear that we need to work on our values, and the internet aspect," Inger Karlsson conceded when challenged by SVT over why the school did not take a stand and act when one of its pupils had been convicted of raping a fellow pupil.

Education minister Jan Björkund has called on Örnsköldsvik to get to the bottom of the matter, while equality minister Nyamko Sabuni has stated that the burden of responsibility for what happened to Linnéa and Jennifer is one broadly shared.

"All of the adults who in various roles and responsibilities within the school, the municipality and the church whom have a responsibility to act, have let themselves down - both professionally and from a human perspective," she wrote in her newsletter published on the Liberal Party website.

The Southern Legal Resource Center is calling on self-proclaimed "Confederates" to declare their heritage when they are counted in the 2010 Census.

The organization is urging Southerners to declare their “heritage and culture” by classifying themselves as “Confederate Southern Americans” on the line on the form, question No. 9, that asks for race. Check “other” and write “Confed Southern Am” on the line beside it, the group says on its Facebook page and on two YouTube videos.

“A significant number of Southerners identifying themselves as Confederate Southern Americans on the Census form could finally spell the beginning of the end for the discrimination that has been running rampant, especially for the last 20 years or so, against all things Confederate, and for that matter against Southern heritage and identity in general,” SLRC executive director Roger McCredie said in a written statement.

He said this campaign could result in protections for “Confederate Southern Americans” much like those for other groups.

“In this age of honoring diversity, Southern/Confederate people are the last group in America that can be maligned, ridiculed and defamed with impunity,” said SLRC Board Chairman Neill H. Payne. “Using the Census to unite the Southern/Confederate community can be a significant first step to our obtaining rights and recognition that all American ethnic groups are entitled to.”

In a video posted on YouTube.com, the group’s attorney, Kirk David Lyons, said he frequently hears from people who “complain of being discriminated against, harassed, humiliated, terminated from employment, their children suspended from school simply because they are proud of their Southern heritage.”

Lyons noted that there had been several court cases brought against those who displayed Confederate symbols or demonstrated their regional pride and the SLRC's nationwide effort could “give people of Southern ancestry a voice and legal protections.”

Gwinnett County police have cited three men accused of soliciting sex in a Kmart restroom.

The citations follow an undercover sting operation by the Gwinnett County Vice Unit at the Kmart located in the 1600 block of Buford Highway in Buford. Police said they acted on a citizen complaint about lewd acts occurring between adult men in the Kmart restroom.

Police cited Jerry Lane Casper, 56, of Duluth; Alejandro Dearo, 37, of Dacula; and Kenneth David Butler, 44, of Buford. All were cited with loitering for the purpose of engaging in solicitation of sex acts in a public place, a misdemeanor offense.

Investigators said undercover officers made contact with one of the men via the Internet and set up a meeting for the strict purpose of engaging in sex.

When the undercover officer entered the restroom, authorities said he made contact with the suspect and after a brief conversation, the suspect solicited the officer for a sex act.

Police said they confronted two other men who were in the restroom and the men said they were there for the same reason, at which point all three suspects were cited.

The attorney for Kenneth Butler told Channel 2 Action News that his client is innocent and was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

"He is a diabetic and having some problems and what he was in the restroom for - he will be able to substantiate that through court and doctor's record. The facts alleged in the ticket are completely false. [Butler] was at the wrong place and the wrong time. He had nothing to do with this sting operation," said Curt Hilbert with Hilbert Law Firm.

Hilbert pointed out his client was not taken into custody but only received the citation.

    By CHARLES BABINGTON

    updated 2:53 p.m. ET, Tues., March. 30, 2010

WASHINGTON - The Republican National Committee has fired a staffer who helped organize a $1,946 visit last month to a sex-themed Hollywood club, and the GOP says it will recoup the money from a donor who also participated.

The episode is the latest in a string of questionable spending by the RNC as Republicans prepare for a costly election season in which they hope to take dozens of House and Senate seats from Democrats.

An RNC memo says the Jan. 31 outing to Voyeur West Hollywood involved several members of the "Young Eagles" GOP group who had been in Los Angeles for a meeting. An unnamed staffer, who had been warned that such activities did not qualify for reimbursement, has been fired, said the memo from RNC chief of staff Ken McKay.

The club features topless dancers and bondage outfits. It's meant to be "risque and provocative" and "a combination of intimidation and sexuality," one of its partners, David Koral, told the Los Angeles Times in October.

RNC spokesman Doug Heye said the committee will be reimbursed by Erik Brown of Orange, Calif., the donor-vendor who billed the GOP for the club visit on behalf of the attendees.

Brown did not respond to an e-mail and phone message seeking comment.

Since November, the RNC has paid Brown's company, Dynamic Marketing Inc., about $19,000 for printing and direct-mail services, campaign spending reports show. He has contributed several thousand dollars to the party.

The most recent financial disclosure report said the RNC spent more than $17,000 for private planes in February and nearly $13,000 for car services. Heye said such services are used only when needed.

McKay's memo says the RNC is committed to using donors' funds efficiently and responsibly.

The $1,946 for meals at Voyeur West Hollywood was the most eye-catching item in the monthly report. RNC Chairman Michael Steele, whose spending decisions have angered some donors in this midterm election year, had nothing to do with the nightclub expenditure, Heye said.

The conservative group Concerned Women for America said the RNC should disclose more about the episode.

"Did they really agree to reimburse nearly $2,000 for a bondage-themed night club?" group president Penny Nance asked in a statement. "Why would a staffer believe that this is acceptable, and has this kind of thing been approved in the past?"

Much of the most lavish spending by the major political parties is associated with fundraisers, which often target wealthy people.

The RNC spent $144,549 for rooms at the Four Seasons Resort in Jackson Hole, Wyo., in 2009. On March 19, 2009, it spent $31,980 for catering by the Breakers Palm Beach in Florida.

The RNC paid $18,361 over the past several months to the "Tiny Jewel Box" in Washington for "office supplies," which may have included trinkets or gifts for big donors. It spent $13,622 at Dylan's Candy Bar in New York City.

Some Republican officials and donors have complained about Steele's spending decisions, saying the party should devote every available dollar to trying to win House and Senate races this fall. He held this year's four-day winter meeting at a beachfront hotel in Hawaii, although it often takes place in Washington.

Some donors grumbled when Steele spent more than $18,000 to redecorate his office. Steele, a former Maryland lieutenant governor, also has received substantial fees for making speeches, even though the RNC pays him a full-time salary.

Some Republicans also have questioned whether the RNC is overpaying the finance director Steele hired, Republican consultant Robert Bickhart. Bickhart and his firm have taken in at least $411,568 from the RNC since Steele hired him last summer. That is far more than the roughly $136,000 the RNC has paid Steele during the 2009-10 cycle and rivals President Barack Obama's annual pay of around $400,000.

Steele's supporters say he has brought a refreshing frankness and energy to the party's leadership.

The RNC ended February about $2.5 million ahead of its Democratic rival. The RNC had about $9.5 million on hand and no debt; the Democratic National Committee reported $10.7 million in the bank but $3.7 million in debt.

Under Steele's leadership, the RNC is pressing for more freedom in how it raises money; it is challenging a 2002 law banning it and the Democratic Party from collecting big contributions from corporations and others known as soft money. Steele said last week that the GOP will take the case to the Supreme Court.
WTF. The party of fiscal conservatism and Family Values! Did they take the term SOFT MONEY literally?

The game begins with a teenage girl on a subway platform. She notices you are looking at her and asks, "Can I help you with something?"

That is when you, the player, can choose your method of assault.

With the click of your mouse, you can grope her and lift her skirt. Then you can follow her aboard the train, assaulting her sister and her mother.

As you continue to play, "friends" join in and in a series of graphic, interactive scenes, you can corner the women, rape them again and again.

The game allows you to even impregnate a girl and urge her to have an abortion. The reason behind your assault, explains the game, is that the teenage girl has accused you of molesting her on the train. The motive is revenge.

It is little wonder that the game, titled RapeLay, sparked international outrage from women's groups. Taina Bien-Aime helped yank the game off store shelves worldwide.

"This was a game that had absolutely no place on the market," said Taina Bien-Aime of women's rights organization Equality Now which has campaigned for the game to be taken off the shelves.

But the controversy that led to stopping sales of the game instead took it viral.

That was how Lucy Kibble and Jim Gardner in Britain heard about it.

"I think the idea that you can do it by wholesale banning is just never going to work anyway because we downloaded it for free off the Internet," Gardner said.

In the case of RapeLay, he was right. It is still readily available on dozens of Web sites, sometimes for free.

What happened to RapeLay is an example, said Bien-Aime, of why Japan needs to police game makers.

"It's obviously very difficult to curtail activity on the Internet. But the governments do have a role in trying to regulate this sort of extreme pornography of children, both in their countries, and through the Internet ," she said, adding that they were calling for the Japanese government "to ban all games that promote and simulate sexual violence, sexual torture, stalking and rape against women and girls. And there are plenty of games like that. "

Those games are known as "hentai games." Almost all feature girlish-looking characters. Some of the games are violent -- depicting rape, torture and bondage in detail.

Step into a game shop in Akihabara, Japan's electronics district, and hentai games are readily available. In minutes, we found a game similar to RapeLay. The object here is also revenge: Find and rape the woman who fired the player from his imaginary job. Along the way, the player can rape a number of other girls and women.

Hentai games are not new to Japan. This country has long produced products the rest of the world would call pornographic. But before the arrival of the Internet, such items stayed in Japan. Now, once a game goes on sale in Tokyo, it is digitized and shared everywhere.

Japan does have censorship laws for sexual content. In games and videos, genitalia are obscured, even if it is animated. But Japan's laws do not restrict the themes and ideas of the games.

A national law that would make possession of real and virtual images of child porn illegal is under discussion, but no serious legislation has moved forward in Japan's parliament.

CNN contacted the Gender Equality Promotion Division in the Gender Equality Bureau of Japan's Cabinet Office, which is charged with handling the hentai gaming issue.

Despite repeated calls over a period of weeks, no representative from the government office would comment to CNN on camera. The office refused to make a statement on paper. A spokeswoman would only say over the telephone that the Japanese government was aware that the games were a problem and it was checking to see if self-policing by the gaming industry was enough.

A member of the Institute of Contents Culture, who did not want to give CNN his name, said restricting game themes limits freedom of expression.

"In my opinion, RapeLay's storyline went too far. However, if a game creator wants to express something and create content out of it, a government or public entity shouldn't have the power to restrain it."

Lucy Kibble and Jim Gardner, the gamers in Britain, said trying to control games on the Internet was futile and that content control was up to parents.

"The idea of banning it, or telling people what they can and can't do just because on the off chance some kid might get involved with it is just ridiculous," said Gardner.
We're stuck in a bloody snowglobe.

I read about that Japanese hentai, Lolli. Reminded me of the arguments we've had about porn, virtual porn, and virtual war games.

Many have had a secret desire to smash a car, or be a war general (or something)....but RAPE....?!

In the CNN clip they mention, CNN interviews 2 British reddit members

But Rapeplay has been out for a long while now. Its on my computer, mainly for the same reasons the interviewed couple state. Just to see what the big fuss was about, when Amazon pulled it more than a year ago.
Its pretty sucky as a game goes, a little weird as far as rape goes.

Why CNN did a story on it now, and what they have been hiding under for the past year, thats anybody's guess.
