I don't have very strong feelings about it, but I still have a preference for 2 separate subfora. Especially if the General Forum is going to be more tied in with the Blog/Frontpage.

Change "Off Topic" to "Random Musings"?
In General Discussion topics are posted with the point that they will be discussed by interested parties.
So far "Off Topic" is mainly posts of things that are of interest, or are entertaining, but do not necessarily merit discussion.

...yeah you're right. Also the "merit discussion" part was not meant to come as a belief on my part that whatever was posted there does not merit discussion, but that some of the stuff people post there might not have been posted with the purpose of starting a discussion. Like the picture thread.

Inane drivel sort of sets the scene...but my big concern is either forum becoming dramatically more popular than the other, which could drive people away from one of the two (no one likes being in the less crowded corner).

So let's break people out of the mentality that Atari cultivated - that we're all stuck in a pen and are to remain in our designated forum and not wander out of it. Most forums aren't as segregated as Atari was.

I think some people will naturally prefer one and others the other. Shouldn't be a problem as long as both are fairly active, and that does seem to be the case for now.
