Secondly the forecast drop in finances hasn't happened. In fact rather than public finances deteriorating they are actually improving considerably better than forecast. He says funding is forecast to be £15bn worse off except as I posted the other day and he doesn't seem to have caught up on since those projections were made the UK has beaten the 2016 borrowing forecast by £22bn and beaten the 2017 borrowing forecast by £18bn.

The people who wrote up Project Fear and got it all wrong forecast a catastrophic deterioration in finances already and they got that wrong too. Finances are going better because Brexit is going so well so far.

Bureaucrats? And the problem isn't any web, but the fear of the Brits of no longer being part of it. They started to call the logical effects of being on the outside a punishment.
    Congratulations America

This describes every country ever. Are you constantly in a state of stunned confusion?

Every country has entered into a major agreement without a clear referendum which morphed into a massive supranational state?

I was responding to what you wrote, not what you imagined you wrote. Most countries came into being without a referendum being held and all of them have had a lot of "stuff" added in the form of institutions, laws etc.

Just got an email regarding my AppleCare+ insurance - AIG has just decided to transfer all of their European contracts to a new company in Luxembourg.

    The dominoes begin to fall.

I applaud the British govt's successful bid to destroy parliamentary sovereignty.

Parliament is sovereign. It has passed a bill in accordance with the pre-existing EU regulations especially Article 50.

With this bill, parliament surrendered its sovereignty.

Today the average employee’s pay-packet is roughly 3% smaller than might reasonably have been expected in June 2016, when real wages were moving upwards. Growth in household spending, which accounts for some 60% of GDP, has slowed."

And this is before Brexit has actually happened, after which the negative effects on the economy will really manifest.

No with this bill Parliament has reclaimed it's sovereignty. For the first time in 45 years Parliament will be supreme. Once the legacy issues of being in the EU are dealt with.

No, by rejecting the lords amendment, parliament has ceded sovereignty to govt in a manner contrary to the constitution.

I don't know if you can actually say that Parliament acted contrary to the constitution.

Absolutely untrue. What part of the constitution has been contravened?

It is standard operating procedure that the executive negotiates treaties, then Parliament has an option of saying either yes or no to it. The unusual part of this situation is the timescale and consequences of Article 50 but that has nothing to do with this bill. Those consequences are because of the Lisbon Treaty that was passed a decade ago without a referendum in contravention of all major parties manifestos at the prior election.

Well, that's 11,000 direct jobs on the line. Not to mention the multitude of secondary jobs which probably exceed that number by quite a bit.

No that's posturing. Just like the multinational businesses that threatened to pull out of the UK if we didn't join the Euro - then all remained because it was BS then and its BS now.

Because not joining the euro is exactly the same as introducing trade barriers in your chain of production?
    Congratulations America

The same was said about exiting the ERM.

The same has been said time and time again but this time we mean it. Sure.

The same was not said about the euro because other than the euro this is not a problem that can be solved administratively. This is not an issue of having to convert pounds to euros. It's an issue of not being able to use components because they lack proper certification. You can't solve this problem by adding an extra line to your bookkeeping.
    Congratulations America

And once again your utter cluelessness shows. Go back to your pub and stay there.

The uncertainty is harmful in itself.

You must be feeling so much butthurt to be so personal and nasty every time.

Or are you claiming that multinational businesses didn't threaten to pull out of the UK time and time again with it being 'boy who cried wolf' BS every time? But yeah, this time is different. Sure.

Except that the threat was that Airbus might pull out of the UK and move to ... China. So China has certification and we won't? Sure ... just how gullible do you think we are?
