Oh, do fuck off. We know what he meant, we're not idiots. When you send your memo, just phrase it in such a way that you avoid directly saying it. Do so in a way that a not especially bright individual might imagine is some kind of cunning disguise but which is actually blindingly obvious to anyone with a mental age of above 12.
Honestly. You conservatives. You think you're so clever with these little word games. "Sticking it to the liberals, use their own tactics against them!" You have no fucking idea how transparent you are, do you?

he just did it in his reply to me. rephrased his own words to make it seem less idiotic at first glance :\
"In a field where an overlooked bug could cost millions, you want people who will speak their minds, even if they’re sometimes obnoxious about it."
The deliberately level of obtuseness to find the worst possible explanation for something is a bad habit. It is like you are incapable of believing people on the opposite end of your politics are anything other than evil sexist xenophobes or halfwits.
Just out of curiosity - do you believe gender has any impact on levels of aggression and violence? Guess what I think it absolutely does and that it is only partially explained by culture and upbringing. Does the fact men are more prone to violence mean that they shouldn't be allowed to have guns, shouldn't be allowed to work in stressful situations etc even though they may on average have a tenancy to react violently? Hell no - you don't make decisions like that. You base ALL decisions on the individual. Race or gender should not play ANY factor in the hiring, firing, promotion or admission process. Do you believe otherwise? Because the only side that is saying it should matter are the ones on the left.

Yup, that's basically Scandinavia for the past few years.
"One day, we shall die. All the other days, we shall live."
I don't see why anyone would express a political opinion at work, no less write-down that political opinion as it conflicts with company policy. Maybe the "bring your whole self to work" ethos of some white collar professions has gone amok.
https://www.wired.com/story/why-men-...ias-in-scienceOne early study evaluated postdoctoral fellowship applications in the biomedical sciences and found that the women had to be 2.5 times more productive than the men in order to be rated equally scientifically competent by the senior scientists evaluating their applications.
Hope is the denial of reality
"And this is a major reason why there aren’t more women in science. While sexual harassment is certainly an issue, we need to look deeper at gender bias. Those women who do make it to the upper ranks have often been told that they were only given that job or that award because they are women, implying that the field is admitting less-deserving women simply to increase their numbers. But in fact, these studies show that many of the women in science must be more capable than the men, to even have advanced in the field. And who wants to admit that?"
This, incidentally, is why affirmative action is so awful.
