    Default The future of tourism

Is it doomed...when the places tourists want to visit are devastated by hurricanes, monsoons, tsunamis or other water/weather-related events, including droughts and wildfires?

Don't think so. As Dr. Malcolm would say, tourism always finds a way. A greater threat to tourism would stagnant or reduced disposable incomes, diminished security and, of course, the spread of isolationist attitudes.

So what's the future for tourism-dependent cultures, that are also climate-dependent?

If anything, lower travel costs and Internet/social media platforms are making the travel industry (and associated destinations) wider and deeper.
