I'm not really sure why, Hazir. 200-odd people were killed in when a plane was taken down by the same group a couple years ago. Thousands are dead in ongoing violence; rarely does a week go by without some sort of violence, though most of it is thankfully less coordinated and deadly. But there's still been, say, the Palm Sunday church bombings, lots of sophisticated ambushes against military/police targets, the utter clusterfuck back in July 2015, etc. Egypt in general and Sinai in specific has been undergoing all sorts of nasty political violence, and the ISIS offshoot has been particularly bloody.
