Not sure what point you're trying to make with that one Aimless. Private donations are accepted in every country that I know of. Indeed that's how many countries are paying for vaccines, they get a donation for the vaccine to match the expenditure that then goes on the vaccines.

Oh yeah, "conservatives" routinely say universal healthcare is SSSocialism, and will eventually destroy the Freee Market for-profit model of American Capitalism. They said the same thing about Slavery, Voting Rights, Education, and the Judiciary. They were wrong then, and they're wrong now.
We've always had a struggle between individual rights and the common good....but it's embarrassing that so many people, who are victims of misinformation/disinformation, continue to think they are "Patriots" so long as they fight against *anything* aimed at the common good.

Funny anecdote: when I was a Census enumerator waayy back in 1990, the term Caucasian was still a choice for racial identity. Most people I interviewed had never heard that word, and didn't even know what it meant.
