Thread: Google Law Suit

    Default Google Law Suit

    https://techcrunch.com/2018/01/08/ja...conservatives/

"The lawsuit, filed by Dhillon Law Group, says it aims to represent all employees of Google who’ve been discriminated against due to their “perceived conservative political views by Google,” due to “their male gender by Google” and “due to their Caucasian race by Google.”

More specifically, it accuses Google of singling out, mistreating and systematically punishing and terminating employees who “expressed views deviating from the majority view at Google on political subjects raised in the workplace and relevant to Google’s employment policies and its business, such as ‘diversity’ hiring policies, ‘bias sensitivity’ or ‘social justice’…”

Damore isn’t holding back any punches here. According to his filing, Google employs “illegal hiring quotas to fill its desired percentages of women and favored minority candidates, and openly shames managers of business units who fail to meet their quotas—in the process, openly denigrating male and Caucasian employees as less favored than others.” "

This will be an interesting case as some of the information supplied so far is pretty damning. I don't think the issue of being against conservative views is going to have any sort of leg to stand on but the racism and sexism in open display at google will make for an excellent hostile work environment finding. By having google employees openly denigrate males simply for being male, or whites simply for being white I don't see how the court could see it any other way. One of the memos actually required google employees to limit no more than one white male to a discussion panel, could anyone imagine the reverse?

In any even google has suffered heaps of embarrassment with this. Dragonkin... lol.

Even more stuff. Apparently several google employees are all in with the violent left:

Nor is being a racist or sexist asshole, weird how he equates political ideology with being a racist or sexist asshole.

I love how lewk thinks breitbart is D&D worthy. Also love how he over exaggerated an already over exaggerated article, and how the very first example provided in the article is of Google telling someone that being mean to Nazis is bad. Its like Lewk doesn't understand a single term, label, or concept involved in any of this. This would be embarrassing to a normal person, but I doubt Lewk understands the concept.

I heard about this guy who could've been a judge on SCOTUS but didn't get the job because he was too moderate.

The guy got fired for essentially stating the qualifications of all the women working at Google, or who want to work at Google, are inadequate for engineering and leadership positions because of their genetics, and therefore Google shouldn't waste resources recruiting and placing women in those positions. If internal-public discourse like that is not addressed by the company, it would create serious morale issues and literally harm the company -- at least for as long as women are working there, that is. And when it goes public, if the company does not address it, it harms their business -- woman are 50% of the population, and people who believe women should be given a fair chance to work in any job they want are an even great portion of the population, so alienating them by allowing this kind of discussion is a bad business decision. That alone, with no discussion of the factual merits of what he claims, and no look at what progressive political internal-public discourse is allowed, is sufficient reason to fire this guy.

Factually right or wrong, advocating that women should be treated fairly is inherently positive for the business inside and out. Call that POV politically progressive if you want, but it does not stand to claim allowing that discussion is equivalent to allowing what this guy was saying.

The best article he could find to support his position came from breitbart, you really think he understands the concept of the world outside his bubble?

He got fired for making google look bad. Google doesn't actually care about that stuff.

To be fair, I think a growing number of people at Google really do care about these things and especially about letting man-babies ruin workplace dynamics. It's bad for productivity if nothing else.

What's bizarre is that Lewk doesn't think twice about essentially posting the equivalent of something like, "Look at this crazy thing I saw in a scat porn video the other day, we should totally discuss it."
"One day, we shall die. All the other days, we shall live."

Google the entity exists for no other reason than to generate the most profit it can, now and reliably into the future, and so I agree it can't be said to "care" about anything else. But my argument is that this guy's words threatened that purpose to some extent, and so he was terminated.

Yeah, but he threatened that purpose because his memo or manifesto or whatever the fuck it was got into the public domain, not because they were concerned about team moral, or productivity or creating a hostile work environment.

Correct. However the suit is also about the blatant discriminatory practices done by google. For example stating that 'only one white male can attend a panel discussion at a tech conference' is clear cut case of racism and sexism on display.

You mean the blatant practices that leads to a disproportionately high number of males and disproportionately low number of African Americans at the company? That's some heavy discrimination.

To Lewk Breitbart are fair and balanced. Not like the leftwing Mainstream Media like the liberal Fox News ...

Irrelevant. You could have a company with 90% Asians and still have someone being discriminated against for being Asian. He doesn't need to prove disparate impact to win his case.

You do know my initial source wasn't from there right? I was only adding to the story because that one explored the ANTIFA link between some google employees and left wing terrorists.

I don't think there's enough actual information to determine that.

To put Lewk's fears into perspective, white supremacists kill more people last year than Muslims, Antifa, and kneeling football players...combined.

... in 2017, but not in 2016. From your own link (and I agree the ADL is a good source):

If you count over the two year period combined it becomes:
White supremacy and Anti-Government extremism combined 32%
    Black nationalism 12%
    Domestic Islamic extremism 55%

Having said that if you look over a decade again your claim is true, but the worrying thing is that Islamic Extremism was virtually zero for years and now has rapidly spiked up. Whether that's a one-off or there for the long-term is a big unknown.

Yes, we have Orlando to thank for that. Its explained in the 3rd bullet point.

    • Unlike 2016, a year dominated by the Pulse nightclub shootings in Orlando, Florida, committed by an Islamic extremist, a majority of the 2017 murders were committed by right-wing extremists, primarily white supremacists, as has typically been the case most years.

I know. The problem that's been mounting in Europe in recent years which thankfully (Orlando aside) the USA hasn't suffered much from in recent years is large Islamic "spectaculars". Europe has.

Pre-9/11 there were very rarely Islamic attacks in the west they were primarily contained within the Middle East (esp Israel) and Africa etc. Even post-9/11 for over a decade they remained few and far between. That's changed in the last 3-4 years becoming more and more frequent.

Also important to note that this is only looking at ideological attacks. Throw in your "regular" nutjobs like in Vegas and your averages go out the window.

Indeed though there's no accounting for "regular" nutjobs, its completely different.

Has Vegas been ruled out as a white supremacist or related?

Barring 9/11 how many have been killed in the US by Islamic terrorists who would've been stopped by Trump becoming president the same year?
