Default Happy International Mother Language Day

As a kid, this was my favourite holiday. It has its origins in the proudest of all Bengali traditions: raising almighty hell in opposition to injustice. It is observed today as a celebration of peace and multilingualism in a giant FU to those jealous nationalists who impoverish their nations by trying to extinguish all diversity. Pluralism is our greatest strength. Happy IMLD

Based on what you sent (and I admit I just scanned it, and am not too familiar with the history)...isn't celebrating multilingualism something of a perversion of what the protests were originally about?

Never heard of it until now. Maybe it should be added to the "Hallmark" card section?
