A long life, lived well. I always liked her, she wasn't pretentious.

The thing that strikes me now is that many people my age are burying their own moms, and they're not very different from Barbara Bush, besides her fame and notoriety. Many of us had stay-at-home moms that suffered through the "womens liberation movement", and questioned their identity and purpose in life, just as she did.

Hard to explain, but even tho it was probably easier for Barbara Bush to get over the humps, because of her family connections, I admire her for doing it under the public spotlight with grace, and dignity, and humor. She really was a role model in her own right.
