    Default Another day another hoax

    https://www.dailywire.com/news/30641...-prestigiacomo

"In a public Facebook post last month, the president of the Timmonsville, South Carolina NAACP chapter claimed he was racially profiled by a Timmonsville police officer, mocked, and accused of having drugs on him. The footage captured by the body camera of the attending officer, though, debunks the leader's claims."

Good grief and the idiot is a pastor too. At this point people should just never believe anything without solid proof. There have been so many hate crime hoaxes these days, almost as if it the demand for racism by liberals exceeds the supply.

I understand how a halfwit who gets his news from the Daily Caller might have that impression, but, fortunately, these last couple of weeks have seen a surge in high profile incidents of absurd racial profiling against minorities that have been caught on camera or carefully documented by witnesses and police.

As I mentioned "never believe anything without solid proof." Video evidence is solid proof.

The number of documented real incidents far exceeds the number of documented fake incidents. It's clear from your posts that you believe real incidents are more rare than hoaxes, so much so that reports of these events are unbelievable. Reports of real events are so much more numerous that the claim that a particular report is a hoax is more unbelievable.

There is little desire from much of the media to report on hate crime hoaxes. And of course the rare times it is reported it is done by non-MSM outlets that liberals like to bash people for even using.

Ultimately proof is in the pudding. Self reporting of 'hey I was a victim' should always be treated as a grain of salt as it is too easy to lie about it and to easy to gin up sympathy/donations/attention. Be skeptical of claims is all I'm suggesting.

The presence of hoaxes should never deter someone from coming forward *with evidence* as the evidence will speak for itself.

Facebook is the thing you should be questioning here, Lewk. People post all sorts of crap on Facebook, including false allegations and "race baiting". (Sometimes even Russian troll bots are to blame!) What's new and different is that townships/counties, and even police departments have Facebook pages, too. And they 'monitor' their profiles (and links) on social media as part of their public image/PR.

Yeah, never believe anything without solid proof. That includes accusations made on FB without evidence or formal complaints filed. But the Daily Wire reported it as *News*, so you lapped it up as *proof* of hate crime *hoaxes*. Then you go one step farther, and suggest MSM just isn't reporting the *Real News*, because of librul bias.

Random idiot making a false hate crime hoax is easy for MSM to ignore. It doesn't fit their agenda AND it isn't a story with a lot of eyeballs on it so they can safely ignore it. Just like conservative publications will not always report on Republican maleficence it is expected that liberal publications will do the same. Just remember that there are far more liberal journalists than conservative ones.

MSM (journalists) doesn't cover "stories" from Facebook unless they're actually newsworthy -- like reports actually made to police depts. that turn out to be false. Dude, you should use better definitions for what's news, a hoax, or a crime.
