    Default What the hell?

    https://abcnews.go.com/International...ry?id=56804800

"As she walked through the aisles, she explained that "he will most likely get killed" in Afghanistan. She started tearing up, as some people applauded and others heckled her.

“What is more important, a life, or your time? … I want him to get off the plane because he is not safe in Afghanistan," she said. "I am trying to change my country’s rules, I don’t like them. It is not right to send people to hell.”

At one point, a man grabbed her phone and told her to stop filming.

Ersson repeatedly interacted with the head flight attendant, telling him: “I am doing what I can to save a person’s life. As long as a person is standing up, the pilot cannot take off. All I want to do is stop the deportation and then I will comply with the rules here. This is all perfectly legal and I have not committed a crime.”

She stood until the man was removed from the flight, responding to questions she posted on Facebook: "The deportation was interrupted. I don't know any more than that, shutting off my cell phone now.""

Uh what the fuck? Why would the deportation be interrupted? Remove this bitch put her on a No Fly list and get on with everyone's day. I cannot understand the actions of the airline here.

How is she a "bitch" (bit of misogyny there) for doing a lawful peaceful protest?

Maybe the airline should have shot and "put down the bitch" for her lawful peaceful protest?

How is it lawful to not take your seat when an airplane is about to lift off? I don't know the laws in Europe but failure to obey the flight attendant in America is a big deal.

Such a big deal it compels keyboard warriors to resort to misogyny.

Because you're such a fucking stupid and hateful moron that you placed the inconvenience of a handful of passages over the life of someone with darker than white skin.

Oh, and she was removed from the flight, faces several thousands in fines and jail time

Not everyone flies United, Lewk. Some of us disapprove of their "beat 1 passenger per flight at random 'pour encourager les autres'" policy.

Sweet thanks for the link. That story was much more informative than the original one I saw.

The deportations are being opposed because many believe that deporting them back to Afghanistan violates the non-refoulement principle in addition to subjecting them to a high risk of death for other reasons. The deportations are being carried out for political reasons--govt. feels it needs to appear tough on asylum seekers in order to retain control in the upcoming election, which is of course foolish because playing the fascists' game only strengthens fascists. Because of the reasonable belief that these deportations are in breach of human rights laws and subject people to a high risk of torture and death, some have sought to obstruct the execution of this policy in any way possible. From this perspective, a flight being delayed is a small price to pay to help save a life. If there are more protests, it's possible that airlines will cease to cooperate with the govt. in carrying out these deportations.

The issue is that the airlines should never be deciding what form of deliberate flight delay is acceptable. You are told to sit, you fucking sit down.

If a person stood up and demanded all black people to leave the plane and would refuse to sit down until the airline got all the black people off, what would happen? The airline would call security and kick her out.

What if a guy stood up and demanded all women to leave the plane and would refuse to sit down until the airline got all the women off the plane, what would happen? The airline would calls security and kick the guy out.

The nature of your protest shouldn't matter. Disruption like this should NEVER be tolerated regardless of the cause. You dislike the governments actions, feel free to protest it in a way that doesn't violate other people's liberty.

It doesn't violate their liberty in the slightest. It violates their convenience. Sit down strikes and brief denial of access is not a criminal problem. Stop insisting that protesters liberty be violated by the state, you petty dictator.

The flight couldn't leave. If Person A agrees to pay person B to transport them and person C interferes with that activity what do you call it? Person A and Person B's liberty has been violated.

I'll ask you directly Fuzzy. If the situation was a racist demanding black people be removed from the flight before takeoff, what should have been the airlines response?

No it hasn't. Person A still got transported by Person B. Things were just delayed. And the possibility of delays, forseen and unforseen, was deliberately mentioned and accepted by both parties in their agreement regarding the transportation.

Your liberty is only violated if the state prevents you from doing it, not a third party. That's not what liberty means.

As for a racist, the same as happened, removal of the person causing a scene.

Of course the difference in your scenario is that the black people probably wanted to be on the plane whereas the one being deported didn't want to be.

If I kidnap you I've deprived you of liberty. If I want to go to see my doctor and the roads are blocked because of an illegal protest, you've impacted my liberty.

    Neither is true.

Liberty: the state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one's way of life, behavior, or political views.

There is a broader definition. That one is basically having the power to do whatever you please. No one begins to have liberty in the first place under that definition nor should they.

LOL copycat gets a rude wake-up call.

    https://www.informationliberation.com/?id=58807

"Finnish Greens party legal officer Aino Pennanen tried to copy Swedish activist Elin Ersson's recent stunt and stop a plane from departing to prevent a migrant's deportation on Tuesday but she received no support from other passengers and instead got swiftly arrested."

No-Fly list (or whatever the equivalent is in Europe) would be an appropriate punishment.

This is the type of play liberals like to use.

    1. Denigrate sources that are right leaning.
    2. Ignore those sources and condemn people who use them.
    3. Enjoy the fact that news stories that showcase leftist incompetence doesn't hit the MSM

They try that with all major sources of right leaning news. There are multiple types of bias, merely slanting a coverage is just one way of influencing the public perception. Choice in WHAT stories gets aired is a more difficult but arguably more effective means of shaping opinion.

The reason we denigrate the sources you rely on (which is not the totality of right leaning sources, just the ones trashy enough to actual give credence to your favoured conspiracy theories) is that we keep catching them lying.

Not having a slated perspective, or a certain take, or being selective in what to cover. Lying. Just the other day you posted a ridiculous article from Fox News claiming the FBI used a Yahoo news article to justify the warrant on Carter Page, which anyone could demonstrate as nonsense with about 5 minutes looking at the primary source.

The fact that you keep posting things from them despite having this happen over and over again either means you're a massive, massive mark or just as dishonest as they are.

While Information Liberation does publish credible news that is sourced properly, it also publishes news that is sourced to right wing biased, conspiracy and questionable sources. They also perform misleading fact checks such as this one: FACT CHECK: Hillary Said 90% of Clinton Foundation Donations go to Charity. Actual Number? 5.7%. This fact check simply is not true. Either this is a very poorly done fact check or they were intentionally trying to mislead. The actual number that goes to charity is 89%. The deception in this fact check is in the wording. 5.7% of donation go to outside charity groups, this much is true. With this fact check Information Liberation is misleading people to believe that only 5.7% goes to actual charity when in fact it is closer to 90%. See the full and proper fact check here. Due to extreme bias and intentionally being misleading we rate this source as Questionable.

Still waiting for the actual facts to be disputed.

Again - the talking points are the same. Attempt to discredit media sources that push news you dislike.
