How about free choice is the key to everything, and addiction, at the level of nicotine, robs you of that. How the fuck can you endorse a product that massively addicts its users? Making nicotine the illegal drug that it should be doesn't mean we should continue the lunacy of the War on Drugs. But it does mean we don't sell the shit in stores.

No, not "everyone" who smokes tobacco gets addicted to nicotene. Just as not "everyone" who drinks alcohol becomes an alcoholic.
I've known plenty of recreational or social smokers that aren't addicted to tobacco. It's probably easier to be a drinker than a smoker, due to today's socio-cultural norms. Plenty of cocktail parties, beer laden tail gate parties, or golf outings with binge drinkers and on-the-verge alcohol addicts, many of whom drive away intoxicated with altered judgement and cause accidents (but second hand smoke is worse?) Weird way to support Uber or self-driving cars as a "health initiative" for drinkers, huh.
Legal at home was a reply to Rand.

Pornography is legal at home but I wouldn't show it to children. Treat second hand smoke in front of children as child abuse but have it legal at home so long as there are no kids present.
Pollute your own lungs at home I don't give a shit. Don't pollute innocent kids with that poison. The fact they may be your kids doesn't give you a right to do so any more than it would give you a right to inject children with cocaine.
