Multiple articles because so many journalists at so many different news orgs have become involved in various ways. In short, it looks like criminal mega-brain Jacob Wohl created a HILARIOUS fake company (either on his own or with the help of dodgy characters, using his mother's phone number) that appears to have offered at least one woman money to make allegations of sexual misconduct against Mueller. Another mystery woman is also said to have been implicated, but it's not clear whether she actually exists. It is as yet unclear who was trying to hoax whom and how, but Mueller's team referred the matter to the FBI last week.

New details keep emerging, about the gloriously farcical incompetence of the people apparently involved in this little operation, and these stable geniuses make James O'Keefe look like a master detective. The Gateway Pundit triumphantly published the apparent hoax, and now they're furiously backpedaling.

I believe Wohl had a number of co-conspirators, and I think some of these people are fucked.

I'm saying you idiots tried to prove your asinine conspiracy theory that journalists were credulously promoting people who were being paid to falsely accuse politicians, and you failed spectacularly, demonstrating in the process not only that women aren't all that keen on taking money to make false accusations, but also that real journalists typically do a better job of critically appraising sensational claims than the halfwits at eg. The Gateway Pundit and the other swamps you favor.

This sort of self-ownage makes idiots like James O'Keefe look like intellectual giants, and your sad attempts to make it look like brilliance only serve to expose your own susceptibility to bullshit
