Thread: International Men's Day!

    Default International Men's Day!

Didn't even know it existed until recently. Should we take the time to highlight how much worse men have it?

In America you are far more likely to be murdered if you are a man. (76.8% of murders have the victims listed as male)

    https://www.bjs.gov/content/pub/pdf/htus8008.pdf

Men are more likely to commit suicide than women

    http://www.who.int/violence_injury_p...dviolfacts.pdf

Could this account for the "female privilege" of living longer?

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...ife_expectancy

Oh yeah work place deaths by gender are also biased toward men -

But hey let's not stop that from declaring how bad women have it every day...

***Note I don't really give a shit about the suicide rate disparity, if you off yourself that's on you, but other people do think suicide is a social issue that others should care about so I included it.

I take great pleasure in the knowledge that you now have a teenager. It's not sufficient punishment, but it's a start.

You realize men are responsible for a vast majority of crimes, right? Against both men and women.
Hope is the denial of reality

To answer some of the less asinine points in the OP, I doubt suicides and workplace deaths cannot be expected to account for the 5 year difference in average life expectancy between men and women in the US. 2.7 million people die every year in the US, and the vast majority of these are due to illnesses for which there are both lifestyle-related & biological reasons for gender disparities. All in all, suicides account for less than two percent of all deaths in the US, and more than half of those are among those are among people middle aged or older. Fatal workplace injuries, too, are too few to account for such a large disparity—and they are also eminently preventable (not that you care to prevent them).

I'm not seeing why that is at all relevant if you are a victim of a crime. If a black guy thinks other black guys are criminals by default and treats them differently based on race - is that not still racist?

Surely you aren't suggesting that all men bear collective guilty for the actions that some men do. I'd hope you haven't been too far down the rabbit of hole of SJW nonsense but who knows.
