Default Some common sense at last! (UK)

"Police in London are using specially trained drivers to stop would-be criminals from using motorcycles and mopeds by ramming them with cars.

Police already use automatic tire deflation devices to stop offenders and DNA and forensic evidence to catch them. Now, through what the Metropolitan Police is calling “contact tactics,” drivers have been trained to target criminals who ride dangerously, without helmets or in disguise, in a way officers say prevents injury to both offenders and members of the public."

A welcome change from the UK's typical "let the criminals get away with everything because reeeeeeeeeeeee they are people too"

This world is crazy. How do I get off from it? Where is the next bus stop? Is there a way to get into an alternate universe?
Freedom - When people learn to embrace criticism about politicians, since politicians are just employees like you and me.

On it's own this would be bad but the alternative of letting these criminals rampage or engaging in a high speed chase are worse.

Glad that this is only being done by highly trained specialised officers and not ordinary Bobbies. Plus they're using the minimal amount of contact they need to, though any contact at that speed is inherently dangerous.

    That's a feature not a defect.

Moped crime has been rising significantly in cities across the UK, but particularly London, for a while now.

Mopeds are easy to nick and easy to escape from the police with.

Used for appalling crime wives, mainly perpetrated by youths, not just smash and grabs but also handbag snatches and mobile phone swipes. A number of times now I've seen jewelers' windows smashed in and police tape up for SoC investigation in London.

More robust police enforcement has been called for, and it looks like the Met has responded. Necessary in my view.

Impressive results: Latest figures show from January 2017 to October 2017 there were 19,455 crimes committed using mopeds in London, compared with the same period this year when there were 12,419 offences - a drop of more than 7,000 or 36%.
