Migrants say that socialists monopolized economy and attempted to distribute wealth in Cuban style, but Venezuela is way bigger than Cuba to do that.
Because of the monopoly on dollars (which is usually called "corralito") people cannot buy supplies to buy any raw materials to produce anything.
Those who can produce something are going for barter to remain supplied. Hyperinflation is brutal.
The irony is that no one seems to care about Venezuelans' starvation, only politics.
