Now, these degenerate enforcers of the law may appear to be racist reprobates with nothing but hatred and filth in their hearts, but they are no doubt consummate professionals that deserve the public's support, respect and admiration.

Hey if you don't want me positing Breitbart news links would you stop posting NPR ones?

You need to learn the difference between bias and credibility. Hint: it's quite possible to be biased while doing solid journalism (see the Economist). Breitbart's problem isn't its bias; it's the fact it's racist trash.
Hope is the denial of reality

So what right wing biased sources do you think should be used Loki?

The bad apples can ruin police dept. reputations and shatter public trust. It's not surprising that some cops are racist haters, but it is a shock to see they posted it publicly on social media and presumed there would be no backlash.

Sad to say that my hometown was one of the police depts. on the list. Most everyone already knew we have some 'bad apples', but it's good to get it out in the open and get the attention of the mayor and police chief. (Policy updates and better screening for new recruits, etc.) But it's probably a drop in the bucket, since we have a real problem with bigotry as a cultural 'norm'.

Lewk, plainviewproject.org is the source of the study, NPR is just reporting on it.

WSJ is generally credible. The Economist is right-wing economically. Heritage used to be credible before it was overrun by Trumpists. Reason is usually solid.

The story was also covered by Fox News affiliates.

Instead of criticizing the initial news link, you should have taken the time to actually *read* the underlying study/project and comment about *that*.

You were so quick to diss "liberal media" that you exposed your own right-wing conservative bias.

Lewk doesn't understand credible, or he wouldn't constantly be linking to fox, breitbart or random discredited conservative fly by night operations. He wants to pretend that both sides are equal, that if there is dirt being reported on one side, the other side HAS to have something equally as bad to report on, even if it needs fabricated. He wants false neutrality without admitting thats just propaganda.

Yeah. I know someone who calls CNN "false news" on everything and then promptly link to Crowder shit.

Lewk can be the bad apple that ruins discussions with his diversions (trolling), but only if we let him.

I was hoping others would actually comment about the project/study:

What should be done when police (even if they've retired) post hateful and bigoted comments on social media?
Who should be responsible for 'monitoring' hate speech made by public officials/law enforcement?
When should it be reported? By and to whom?
What happens when hate speech goes underground and offline?
    Etc.

Seems it's been known as 'part of the culture' for years but DHS hasn't done anything about it.
    And neither has Facebook.

"Revelations about the group came the day after Facebook released an audit of its efforts to protect civil rights across the social media platform. The audit specifically recommended strengthening protections against hate speech and calls for harassment related to national origin.

Heidi Beirich, the director of the Intelligence Project at the Southern Poverty Law Center, said she’d been pressing Facebook to pursue secret groups like 10-15 and hidden hate speech for years. Facebook, she said, “can use their AI or their people to identify these groups, and with the horrible language in there, they should have been finding these people.”

Facebook has not yet responded to questions from ProPublica."
