Thread: Red Scare 2.0

    Default Red Scare 2.0

    This is honestly hilarious.

First they called Trump a Russian plant.

Then they called Jill Stein a Russian puppet.

Then they moved on "Moscow Mitch" and call Rand Paul a "Russian Stooge"

Now they are coming for Tulsi Gabbard with the same overused brush.

It feels like Democratic establishment have made a huge culture shift from "If you oppose us you are racist" to "If you oppose us you are Putin's pawn." I wonder how well it will work.

Didn't think I'd live long enough for the right to start whining about a Red Scare. All it took was a right-wing government that told its supporters to back Russia. I'm old enough to remember the media bashing Romney for calling Russia the biggest threat to the US.

I remember you posting op-eds from Anne Coulter back in the day about how Joe McCarthy was good actually.

Did some kind of Fox News bat signal go out so now you have to be fine with Russian influence in US politics, and then you were like "Roh Rwokay" and then immediately open up this forum and make a thread?

Well yeah. McCarthy was opposing pinko communist leftists. Russia now is an authoritarian kleptocratic oligarchy. A natural ally for certain kinds of conservatives.
Last night as I lay in bed, looking up at the stars, I thought, “Where the hell is my ceiling?"

Joe McCarthy actually did uncover spies in the State Department. HUAC is where most of the shady shit took place and that was in the House and not the senate.

So do you think Tulsi is a Russian operative/agent? Do you think the Kremlin is pulling her strings?

The Kremlin is pulling everyone's strings. That's what they do. They're all about disinformation and sowing US *internal* discourse. They know how to exploit our vulnerabilities and internal disagreements....so we destroy ourselves from within.

What do you think about the (R) party that became the Trump Party, doing the same damn thing?

    This is paranoia.

Why do you refute ALL the US intelligence agency conclusions?

Do you not understand the difference between an asset and an agent?

The Kremlin indisputably backs Gabbard. What, if anything, she gets from that backing hasn't been established. She might just be a terrible human being.

Pete, Yang and Beto have all commented on it and have more or less said its bull shit. Personally rather shocked Bernie hasn't given that Tulsi resigned at the DNC over its partisan treatment of Bernie in the 2016 primaries.

And the Kremlin is always going to push things that enhance division. Simply because they push someone doesn't mean the positions that person is taking are wrong. In Tulsi's case she's for a draw down from the Middle East. Russia wants that - so is everyone who is in favor of removing troops from the Middle East a Russian asset? Is that the argument you are making? Every political dove is a Russian asset?

Ultimately Democrats will make their own choices and I doubt it will be Tulsi. The bigger issue is the continual "everyone who I disagree with is a Russian tool" that continues to be used over and over again. Its kinda crazy.

Um, she supports Assad to the point of claiming the rebels gassed themselves. She downplayed Russian interference in 2016. She opposes any punitive measures against Maduro in Venezuela. She still can't decide whether Trump should be impeached. Russia isn't stupid. It's supporting Gabbard because Gabbard supports virtually all its priorities. And it's telling you think those policies are suddenly acceptable.

I'm not going to defend her positions, there's no chance in hell I'd vote for a socialist like her in the first place. However HRC's statement was shit. Hell even Bernie finally said something:

    https://www.cnn.com/2019/10/21/polit...eet/index.html

""Tulsi Gabbard has put her life on the line to defend this country," the Vermont independent tweeted. "People can disagree on issues, but it is outrageous for anyone to suggest that Tulsi is a foreign asset.""

  16. #16
Is that seriously your response? That anyone who served in the military couldn't possibly be a foreign asset? Like, say Flynn?

No that was Bernie's response I quoted.

Serving in the military is an indicator you are likely a good person but it certainly isn't definite proof. We had that one Islamist terrorist who was an officer in our military as an example.

Has anyone even tried the drowning test on her yet? Until we weigh her down with stones and see if she sinks in a river, how can we know she's not a witch?

Am I supposed to care about a Sandinista-supporter backing Gabbard?

Wait, by Sandinista are you talking about Bernie Sanders or reporters at the New York Times?
