Real Talk O'Clock: The vast majority of people rioting and breaking laws at these protests right now are the cops themselves, angered by the very idea they might be held accountable for their behaviour, or anything.

Here some police just straight up stealing people's bikes, then telling them to "figure it out themselves" how to get home.

WTF at using the truncheon repeatedly to batter an unarmed woman?

    Scum.

Opportunistic vultures, direct result of unrest and rioting creates a climate that makes people think they can take advantage of it. They should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law like every other rioter and terrorist.

This is false. This is you projecting your own fetishes. Americans want the riots to stop. Americans understand why the public is rioting. Americans see the cops as part of and cause of the riots.

You have repeatedly shown yourself to be very unamerican.

We all know how this ends(repeats). Big headlines as initial trial dates are set, less headlines as dates are extended one year then two years and the anger fizzles from view. Then more articles like the one below.

    How surprising.

"A Georgia investigator testified on Thursday that one of the three defendants accused of chasing down and killing Ahmaud Arbery, a black man who was jogging in Brunswick, Ga., heard another defendant use a racist slur after shooting Mr. Arbery.

From the witness stand, Richard Dial, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation assistant special agent in charge of the case, said that Mr. Bryan heard Mr. McMichael use the slur after the shooting took place, and before the police arrived on the scene."

Every single one of these officers using excessive force on peaceful people should be fired and prosecuted.

In a Wednesday afternoon news conference, Vallejo Police Chief Shawny Williams said the officer believed he saw the butt of a handgun poking out near Monterrosa’s waist, and opened fire “due to this perceived threat.”
So carrying assault rifles is fine, but maybe carrying a handgun which you're not even holding is a threat?

It could've been a knife too, knives are deadly weapons.

Meanwhile, thanks to video evidence, police were forced to go from "he tripped and fell" to firing people over this assault:

"One day, we shall die. All the other days, we shall live."

I've been wondering how many just how police have been doing stuff like this, and how they can possibly all be held accountable, especially given that the police have decided they're a law unto themselves now. Are we expecting them to arrest each other? Who's going to do the job of shifting through all the reports, video footage, eye witness testimony to find out who should be sacked, who should be sacked and prosecuted and who should be kept?

The UK has an independent body for such investigation into police misconduct; the IPCC.

I would imagine the US does too, though I suppose such bodies would vary by state, and thus their effectiveness would also vary state by state.

    Indeed. Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

From watching Law & Order:SVU and similar shows I believe the American equivalent of the IPCC is called Internal Affairs. At least for the NYPD.

The US military seems to be trying to distance itself from their Commander In Chief.

Police killed an unarmed citizen while he was on his knees with his hands up. Because they thought he had a gun. Apparently walking around with an assault rifle is oKKK, but peacefully surrendering while looking like you might be packing heat is worthy of getting murdered over.

That is the job of each IA branch of major police forces. Of course, depends upon the corruption there as well...then they get to slug it out with the police unions...what joy.

Yeah not enough focus has been on the toxic issue of unions within the government. Getting rid of them will make it easier to get the few bad cops out. Just like getting rid of teacher's unions will help get bad teacher's out. Its very simple.

Again, over-broad in your statement, and killing the point with a Howitzer when a tad more finesse is required.

These rioting police—just a few bad apples—should be arrested:
