So strange considering not a single police officer under Donald Trump's control has killed anyone.

Police violence is justly getting a lot of coverage right now, but what's not getting so much coverage is that the police also just lie their asses off constantly.

For someone who hates socialism, he sure does seem to enjoy being publicly owned.
Not my joke but come on, it's perfect.

*shrug* I guess it's the closest thing to love and recognition some people ever get to experience.

A police force’s entire Emergency Response Team has resigned in disgust after two of their colleagues were suspended for shoving a 75 year-old peace activist onto a concrete sidewalk.
[...]
Announcing the dramatic move, Buffalo Police Benevolent Association President John Evans told the Investigative Post: ‘Fifty-seven resigned in disgust because of the treatment of two of their members, who were simply executing orders.’
"One day, we shall die. All the other days, we shall live."
Would be fascinated to see what orders they've been given, and who gave them.

A few rotten apples indeed.

Hahah get fucked!

It's not really better but the statement from their benevolent association is a lie. It's not a protest about the suspensions. They're pulling out because the Benevolent Association has said it's not going to help pay for legal defense in riot control cases right now, that it doesn't have the money for it.
Last night as I lay in bed, looking up at the stars, I thought, “Where the hell is my ceiling?"
Good police officers show what they think about the few violent "bad apples" amongst them:

This isn't strange at all in a modern democracy:

Inside every Republican political figure, there's a crank—and a lot of creepiness.

And I even figured out why Lewk's been posting more of late—he's been suspended for being a jackass:

Remember when those same Texan politicians were paranoid about Obama sending troops to Texas in the Jade Helm exercises? I wonder what changed.

American cops are fucking babies:

And that was under normal circumstances. No wonder they're beating people up now.

At this point, it may be more appropriate to talk about "a few good apples":

Unbelievable thread. Or, rather, all too believable.

The victim died. Afaict no arrest has been made. No info on whether there was any serious attempt at investigating the killing.

I don't like this. By all means lets remove the statue; but not via vandalism. I'm uneasy about where this could lead.
King Leopold is the real prize.

The river? Come on, who the fuck puts up statues of slave traders?I'm uneasy about where this could lead.
I mean, the British state does, obv. But we shouldn't encourage them.

The statue had no place in 2020 UK. It needed to go.
I don't think anyone could make a reasonable case for it to remain standing.
But not like that. Do it within the frickin' law, mmm'k.
This might help lewk understand why his previous line of questions was idiotic bullshit. Shared by my home city a few minutes ago. Or he could miss the point entirely, again.
"In a field where an overlooked bug could cost millions, you want people who will speak their minds, even if they’re sometimes obnoxious about it."
Slavery was evil. The statue was (I believe) for his major charitable works which were good, not the slavery, but yeah I agree that even with the philanthropy he had no place in 21st century Britain. There's a right and wrong way for it to go, but its not really a major concern and I'm not sad to see it gone.
This is saddening,
Americans support deploying military to control violent protests
Faith is Hope (see Loki's sig for details)
If hindsight is 20-20, why is it so often ignored?
This whole thread is sad.
I wonder if some people in that survey mistakenly think the National Guard is "military"?
