Thread: US protests against police violence

So strange considering not a single police officer under Donald Trump's control has killed anyone.

What's strange is that, after two decades of constantly being shown—on a daily basis—how dumb you are, you still seem to think you're clever.

For someone who hates socialism, he sure does seem to enjoy being publicly owned.

Not my joke but come on, it's perfect.

*shrug* I guess it's the closest thing to love and recognition some people ever get to experience.

A police force’s entire Emergency Response Team has resigned in disgust after two of their colleagues were suspended for shoving a 75 year-old peace activist onto a concrete sidewalk.

    [...]

Announcing the dramatic move, Buffalo Police Benevolent Association President John Evans told the Investigative Post: ‘Fifty-seven resigned in disgust because of the treatment of two of their members, who were simply executing orders.’

Would be fascinated to see what orders they've been given, and who gave them.

Give him time, I have no doubt thats a fantasy you two share. Even as he hides behind the Whitehouse's babygate. He started small, going after a small peaceful protest and a church.

Good riddance if that's their attitude.

Sadly, they didn't resign from the police, just whatever tag team they were part of.

Good police officers show what they think about the few violent "bad apples" amongst them:

"One day, we shall die. All the other days, we shall live."

Exceptional brutality, but also exceptional public support:
"One day, we shall die. All the other days, we shall live."

Remember when those same Texan politicians were paranoid about Obama sending troops to Texas in the Jade Helm exercises? I wonder what changed.

    American cops are fucking babies:

"One day, we shall die. All the other days, we shall live."

  20. #170
At this point, it may be more appropriate to talk about "a few good apples":

"One day, we shall die. All the other days, we shall live."

Someone living the resident fascist's wet dream of running over a black protester:

"One day, we shall die. All the other days, we shall live."

I'm uneasy about where this could lead.
The river? Come on, who the fuck puts up statues of slave traders?

I mean, the British state does, obv. But we shouldn't encourage them.

The statue had no place in 2020 UK. It needed to go.

I don't think anyone could make a reasonable case for it to remain standing.

But not like that. Do it within the frickin' law, mmm'k.

This might help lewk understand why his previous line of questions was idiotic bullshit. Shared by my home city a few minutes ago. Or he could miss the point entirely, again.

Slavery was evil. The statue was (I believe) for his major charitable works which were good, not the slavery, but yeah I agree that even with the philanthropy he had no place in 21st century Britain. There's a right and wrong way for it to go, but its not really a major concern and I'm not sad to see it gone.

Faith is Hope (see Loki's sig for details)
If hindsight is 20-20, why is it so often ignored?

    This whole thread is sad.

I wonder if some people in that survey mistakenly think the National Guard is "military"?
