    Default Good News from Ohio!

FAIRFAX, Va. – The National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA) thanks Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine for signing Senate Bill 175, important self-defense legislation that protects Ohioans should they ever be forced to defend themselves or their families while outside of their home.

“This bill ensures that victims are protected should they ever need to defend themselves or others,” said John Weber, Ohio state director for NRA-ILA. “The NRA also thanks the sponsor of SB 175, Sen. Tim Schaffer and the state legislature for ensuring this fundamental protection iis codified by law.”

Previously, when victims faced a criminal element, the law required them to first try and run away or face penalties. With DeWine’s signature, law-abiding Ohioans will no longer face prosecution if they immediately defend themselves or others.

“Crimes can happen quickly and without warning. Most victims have a split second to react with the best course of action for their survival. By signing SB 175, Gov. DeWine ensures the law favors victims and not criminals,” said Weber. “We look forward to working with the governor in the future to advance the interests of law-abiding Ohioans."

The NRA also thanks Lt. Gov. Jon Husted, Speaker Robert Cupp, Senate President Larry Obhof, Rep. Kyle Koehler and Sen. Terry Johnson for their efforts toward passage of SB 175.

Amazing to think that it wasn't already the case. Criminal invades your home - you get to defend it. Now it is clearly codified in law and protects potential would be heroes from prosecution.

Yeah, no, I don't think America's middle-aged Punisher LARPers need more encouragement to escalate to deadly force every time they feel "threatened".

Imagine being as stupid as Lewk and still have people think you can be trusted with a gun. It's ridiculous—he can barely be trusted with a stroller.

It was already the case in Ohio wrt your scenario. Once again you couldn't be bothered to pay attention to the material you yourself quoted.

Of course, that's nowhere near the full extent of it either. It's about granting you immunity from civil suits for recklessly killing other people, including uninvolved third parties, when you "feel" threatened, or when you "feel" like someone else is threatened.
Last night as I lay in bed, looking up at the stars, I thought, “Where the hell is my ceiling?"

If hindsight is 20-20, why is it so often ignored?
