There's this guy who was claiming the 2020 elections were rigged. You remind me of him.
    Congratulations America

Decision Desk HQ has called the AZ senate race for Gallego, but AP considers it too early to call.

Casey appears to have lost his seat, but the margin is small enough that it may trigger a recount. Tens of thousands of provisional Pennsylvania ballots remain uncounted, waiting to be "cured", which is a normal thing in a normal democracy. McCormick & co. have ofc sued to obstruct this process, and, while the PA Supreme Court seems opposed to such shenanigans, the matter will likely be settled by SCOTUS.

It's pretty rare to see large-scale changes during recounts. Also, the military voted 2 to 1 for Trump and their ballots make up a decent chunk of the ones not counted so far.

Can we agree that Donald J. Trump won this one surprisingly easy?
    Congratulations America

The way that Macron, Rutte, Sunak, etc. lost easily? I wonder what the common denominator was. Must be the wokeness.

Can you refrain from stupid-posting? From the three you mentioned only Sunak is working in a system that has similarities to the US system. And his party made such a joke of the notion of government that nothing could have saved him. Especially not with his interparty impopularity. In France Macron's bet seems to have paid off despite extremist on the left and right thinking they won. In The Netherlands Rutte pulled the plug himself for no good reason, but since he didn't stand in the elections it's a bit strange to say he lost. He already wanted out. His successor made a miscalculation by suggesting a vote for Wilders might not be lost after all. But what's more important than anything; in the parliamentarian systems of Europe we don't have 'winner takes all' results. Winner just means you have more votes than others.

P.S. Rutte's party is still in government.
    Congratulations America

About a dozen Western countries had elections in the past 1.5 years. Only in one did the incumbent do well. Most of the incumbents were center-right. But yes, wokeness.

OK genius, what do you think you are proving here? That you're a whiney bitch?
    Congratulations America

Do you have any comparable data on local/regional elections? Would be an interesting paper

    2. Radical left identity politics keep putting off more and more voters off
    3. The case against Trump is going to give Trump more publicity than money can buy. And unlike what liberals think, it's not gonna put a lot of people off voting for him.

So, that's some of the reasons why I think America will vote a man into the White House a man who should be in prison for his attempt to interfere with the electoral process by inciting people to attack the Capitol.
    Well, you called it!

Kinda shocking though that Democrats couldn't win these elections. As a EU citizen of course I can't be happy with a Trump presidency and am prejudiced, but this president-elect seems like A Frankenstein monster of parts that all by themselves already should have made him unelectable.
    Congratulations America

Did you miss the part where virtually no Western incumbent won an election in the past 18 months? And most lost by far larger margins than Harris.

Did you miss the part where the US electorate elected a felon, traitor and overall horrible person to the presidency?

I hope you will understand I'm not overly interested in comparisons with countries that didn't elect that sort of leader.
    Congratulations America

I'm disappointed in America (I think you need a new signature) but not entirely surprised or shocked.

Post-Covid, post-Ukraine invasion, since the surge in inflation, every western election bar one that I know of has been lost by the incumbent.

Voters have punished the incumbents across the globe. America is the norm in that not the exception.

Only the repulsiveness of Trump and the bitter divisions in America kept it remotely close I suspect, otherwise it would have been a 1996 (in reverse) style landslide if not a 1984 style one.

Have a look at who got 2/3 of the vote in the French elections.

Great analysis, not much of a solution though.

There isn't one that exists within the constraints of a democracy.
