Yeah, it's pretty obvious about what's happening there. Same as in UPenn and Columbia.
Soon every university will be Germany

People can't talk about stuff anymore.
Updates on events at Columbia increasingly resemble dispatches from a war zone, as the president goes full Sisi on faculty and students

Think it's gonna be a loud weekend. Just hope nobody gets killed this time around.

The DA has to refuse to prosecute anyone that was arrested at UT.
It took police an hour and 14 minutes to react to Uvadle once on scene, how long did it take them to react to peaceful protesters at a college campus after being called in?
I mean, it seems to be endorsed by numerous faculty members.
These are two totally different police departments responding to two totally different things
Or they just want to clear a space. Don't need to charge people with a crime for that. What are you, a facist?
This didn't take long

A generation of kids taught how to secure a building against armed intruders has now been given the chance to show that they were in fact paying attention.
Funny how the people desperate to get rid of a few dozen students sitting around and chanting didn't seem to care when far more violent far right rallies went ahead with police protection.

Well many of these places are private institutions with trespasser claims. But you assume I support breaking these up. I think everyone should see how radically revisionist many of these folks are. And I'm fairly absolutist in my free-speech views.
Though private institutions certainly have the right to tell these folks to STFU. They certainly have done plenty of that recently.

I'mma disagree on this one. Students live there, work there, are asked to spend much of their free time there and the institutions have provided them with a (limited) place in the institutions governance. A private institution doesn't have the right to tell and compel striking workers to just STFU either. These may be private institutions but nothing gives private property owners dictatorial fiat authority over people on their property, nor would any of us welcome such a dystopian set-up, not even you or Lewk.
Last night as I lay in bed, looking up at the stars, I thought, “Where the hell is my ceiling?"
That depends on whether the protesters support a cause Dread opposes or if they're white supremacists.
3rd time I'm trying this. For some reason when I post then go to edit, when I click in the text box it deletes my post and reloads the thread.
Anyway, out county sheriffs just got pulled off their OT assignments because of protests springing up at USF.
Back during the BLM protests that area got way out of pocket. To the point that they had a swat vehicle hijacked/stolen. So I expect a heavier handed approach this time around.
