Loki and the Lemmings. :o
I actually kinda like Literati. Playing off TWF we could go with The Galaxy or the Empire Forgotten. Confederation?
I like The Empire Forgotten.
I just found out that as your tech goes up, you have the opportunity to add more space to your planet. There's also more energy plants that unlock at higher energy tech levels.

Ok, I have a spaceport now but I'm leery of sending a trade route request because someone said it costs 20 credits and I don't want to run out of money trying to complete the tutorial. Is that something I need to be concerned about?
It looks like the cost scales with distance, but profit does too. My trade with Echo only cost 8 credits. Both routes I'm running now are definitely worth it though - it's pretty high profit, and it keeps going up as Echo and Loki develop their economies.
edit: Also, build 1 fighter when you get a trade route to prevent plundering. As just happened to Loki. You can't be attacked for a while, but trade route plundering doesn't count as an attack if there's nothing defending it.
:( Great, that's going to cost me several hundred credits.
Why several hundred?
I can't establish any trade routes for 24 hours. 2 trade routes at 7 an hour works out to 336. That's an equivalent of a whole day of income.
I'm wiping that guy off the map as soon as I catch up to him.
Never forget, never forgive.
It won't let me move my only fighter ship because "I don't have enough hangar capacity". How do I change that?
Edit: nevermind.
Definitely seems like ignoring the tutorial and going for Economy (Credits) is the way to go. Trade is good, my trade route with Lolli cost us 10 each but is already giving 5/hour do has already repaid itself.
Second trade slot, who wants it? 34:24:75:33
Me!
edit: You don't actually have a second trade route available. You tricked me.
I think you only get a new route with every five space ports?
When is that guild getting set up?
Does your tutorial base become your actual base once tutorial is finished?
It's taking ages to do tutorial and I don't wanna do the same shit again once it's finished.
Yeah, you dont have to do the tutorial I think, I just started building my base, made it up to the base defenses, but now I'm first getting more money, which also means more power, and residential buildings. So basically youre tutorial base is just a base.
So is there any use in specialising in construction/research/production, from a cooperation/trading perspective?
Ah. Apparently you need economy 20 or over to start a guild. So it's going to be up to one of you who got started yesterday, if you've gotten that far. I know Flixy and I are only Economy 7 and presumably won't reach 20 until sometime tomorrow.
edit: Out of curiosity, how did you know Loki's trade route got hit?
Must have "economy 20 or above to create guild".
I'm on as Timbuk2, on Tatooine at M34:36:83:11
Because my trade route was with him. I just checked what it would take to build the ships necessary to attack a trade ship, and it's quite a lot. The person spent a heck of a lot of money just to steal 5 credits (though it cost me over 300 due to an inability to trade for 24 hours).
There, now set up on a barren wasteland called Debate n Discuss as Supreme High Bigjob Mushu :noob: spaceport ready to entertain plunderers
Wraith, are you sure having the fleet would prevent a trade route from getting looted? Because it seems the cheapest ships can't actually leave your base without a transport ship.
Just read some guides. It seems everyone is protected from direct attacks for 7 days (as well as needing to be level 10).
It's yours, added now that I have credits. Nice! Cost of 7, profit of 4 to start with.
Vis-a-vis early base building, I'd say focus on revenue to start with; there's not much point in building much in the way of defenses early. The wiki recommends having a single fighter in orbit before establishing a trade route, since ground based defenses won't work offensively against a fleet in orbit. As for ground defenses, they argue to use the highest tech available and sell all of your older tech as you upgrade, since the competitive advantage in tech becomes significant.
Wraith you still want that Trade Route?
