Technically capitalism will fix the resource problem, just in a non-palatable way. As a resource becomes scarcer, its price will increase due to lowered supply and either stable or increasing demand. As its price increases, fewer people will be able to purchase it, leading to less of it being used. Eventually as it become incredibly rare, very few people will be able to afford it. So a few hundred years from now only eccentric rich people will be loading helium into party balloons instead of expensive medical equipment or scientific devices. This is of course a funny hypothetical situation, not an actual statement on helium scarcity in the future.
