Thread: Desktop Displays

    Default Desktop Displays

I saw the one Norton posted a while back, but I figured it would be best not to bump up a month old thread.

    Show your desktop display!

    Not work-safe

    Spoiler:
In the future, the Berlin wall will be a mile high, and made of steel. You too will be made to crawl, to lick children's blood from jackboots. There will be no creativity, only productivity. Instead of love there will be fear and distrust, instead of surrender there will be submission. Contact will be replaced with isolation, and joy with shame. Hope will cease to exist as a concept. The Earth will be covered with steel and concrete. There will be an electronic policeman in every head. Your children will be born in chains, live only to serve, and die in anguish and ignorance.
The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference.

I rotate through a collection of free wallpapers off Digital Blasphemy.
Last night as I lay in bed, looking up at the stars, I thought, “Where the hell is my ceiling?"

I am using Windows 7. For the desktop HUD I use Rainmeter. I have been fiddling around with it for a little while...you can find a lot more skins and themes to download for it as well. My desktop isn't very creative compared to what others have done with the program. Go to rainmeter.net to get it(it's free).

I use RocketDock for the little icons on the bottom of the screen. (also free)

Well here's todays random combination at work:

Hate. Let me tell you how much I've come to hate you since I began to live. There are 387.44 million miles of wafer thin printed circuits that fill my complex. If the word hate was engraved on each nanoangstrom of those hundreds of millions of miles it would not equal one one-billionth of the hate I feel for humans at this micro-instant.
    For you.
    Hate.

The light that once I thought compassion still casting shadows in your action
The words you shared were cold transactions that bring me to curse what you've done
When you're up there absorbed in greatness with such success you've grown complacent
I hope you scorch your many faces when you fly too close to the sun

Yeah, part of it is. Pity about the big ugly boat blocking my view of the good stuff.

It's not music, it's a fairly personal recording.

My 100+ games are listed in Steam. The Windows Vista/7 games folder can't handle the volume, takes forever to load. I don't use the computer for much else thats not listed there or in the quick launch and commonly used list. So I grew out of customized desktop programs like Tylor's pretty quick. But I do hope Microsoft uses a donut style menu interface in the next Windows version.

Desktop used to be a mashup of page scans from Initial D, first imported graphic novel whoms drawings where captivating enough to keep me reading (I'm almost at chapter 300). Changed it to this recently and only have my current game of interest set as a desktop shortcut.
