I'm being transferred a couple blocks away from home. I'm the longest standing employee of my position in downtown (out of ~9-10), and while there was a lot of middle manager fighting concerning losing my skill set and speed of work, the upper management finally granted my request. No more code enforcement & suicide calls for me! No more monthly parking charges, no more $4 a day in gas. I'm be back to teaching more, and I'll be organizing maker spaces for the rest of the county. 3D printers and laser cutters. THAT is how a library properly expands its services. w00t!

Premiere of a documentary my friend made about our group of friends (so basically I'm one out of 4-5 starring), and transition from youth to adult, is set for a little more than a month from now at a film festival

Hell, I'm probably a lot more known from the bands I've played in. And producers are almost never famous, so that may be safe. I did get recognized from the trailer at the liquor store near my parents, though!
Speaking of bands, my band's last show is set for august 24th. Shame it's the last, but at least we're planning on going out with a great party!

Engineers have shown that random seating is more efficient (from the point of view of the amount of time it takes for everyone to get into seats) than assigned seating.

There's also the issue that a bunch of people who buy tickets don't show up. Why not sell those seats twice if people are that stupid?

That's about the only time I go anymore anyway. $50+ to take the family to see a single movie aint worth it.
