Russia sounds like they're already pretty pissed off, I doubt that would calm them down.

So? What do you propose then? Do nothing? Oh, I know: Send a sternly worded letter that will get ignored. Yeah, that'll show them.

Russia is already behaving like a schoolyard bully. And it doesn't work when you simply ignore the bully's antics.

TV news so no link; Australian customs found €200m worth of meth-amphetamine in a truck being shipped there from China. The people responsable face long prison terms.

How stupid do you have to be to not produce M-A in the country where you plan to sell it?

Also; the queen of the UK is worried children will read less because of e-readers.
    Congratulations America

The wife of this asshole went on a drunken rampage the same night and ran her car into 4 other cars. The owners of which will have to go to court in Russia if they want to try to recover their damages.

I'm not sure if motor insurance wouldn't cover that.

Motor insurance (in the UK at least) increasingly covers for uninsured accidents (an at-fault uninsured driver crashes into your car). I'd put this incident in the same category.

Yes, but that's common sense. Doesn't exactly apply when it comes to insurance.

Why are you trying to show them anything? This isn't a schoolyard fight, this is between nations which both have nuclear weapons. What is to be gained by sticking it to Russia here? Is it really worth the cost? Remember that The Netherlands is really not in a position of power here.

This woman may not necessarily fall in the category that entitles the owners to getting money from the fund we have in Holland. It could very well be that she has insurance but refuses to give the relevant information to the opposite parties.

Appearantly they will be re-imbursed as the car was registered in the name of the Russian embassy which is obliged to have basic coverage.
    Congratulations America

I don't have any tolerance for child abusers. Diplomatic status or not, there are limits.

On another note: Square Enix seems to be wholly and fully incompetent when it comes to securing their MMO Final Fantasy XIV.

Simply put, the game uses LUA to send a JSON query in order to retrieve character information. Fine so far. However, it turns out that this query is read/write!

And without any sanity checks of some kind.

Need to ding max level fast? Simply set your character level to any value you want.
Need more money than the rest of the whole server population has combined? Zero problems.
Want to turn Muddy Water into a very rare and expensive Materia IV? Shazam!

It's not much of a stretch that Square Enix is using this query to control data flow - killed a monster? Use this query to award items, money and EXP. Which in turn means that they'd have a hell of a time catching users using that exploit if the exploiters don't get too greedy.

There was a "protest" in front of the White House over the weekend. Sarah Palin, Ted Cruz, and some elected representative (whose name I don't even want to search because he accused President Obama of bowing to Allah and killing the US) made a fuss. Impeachment placards, waving the Confederate Flag around in one hand, while waving the Marine Corps Flag in the other hand.

    Crazy stuff.

    WTF.

  13. #2803
Yeah, like this is the first time the US is supporting terro...cough... freedom fighters.

The list of incident between Russia and Netherlands continues, as a Dutch diplomat was beaten up and bound (in an apparently well planned attack), and the assailants left a LBGT sign. But according to a Russian newspaper (coincidentally outraged by police attempting to protect kids from a drunk abusive guy) says it's no big deal because the thugs were 'polite'. I suppose with newspapers condoning this kind of shit, and political leaders calling for violence (later retracting that but pretty much condoning it if it would happen) against the embassy, people will get the wrong ideas. Let's hope cooler heads will prevail.

    Some Russia-Netherlands year indeed!

walmart has had many of their $60 games listed for $18 for the past couple of hours, and multiple 20-23" LED monitors for $8.

Now to wait and see if any of my orders go through...

    $8?

    You mean $80 shirley.

I'd like one of those for that price

  21. #2811
and I've already turned it into a first world problem. I didn't get GTA V for the PS3 in time. Had to settle for the 360 version for $18. Did get both versions of the new pokemon game though.

    if the orders go through...

Wouldn't go through, is that because it's likely a mistake?

  23. #2813
correct. businesses have protections the enable them to not honor orders if there is a mistake in the pricing.
I ordered most of my stuff to be picked up in store. So my orders will be filled by in stock items. I'll pick them up on lunch, hopefully before someone makes the decision to not ship all these screw ups.

Damn, missed this $130 wheel going for $3 too.

The pokemon games are already showing ready for pick up. and I managed to find 1000 pages worth of walking dead for $3.

Missed all kinds of other deals, $3 controllers, $300 50" smart LED TVs. No way these prices are legit, this is not going to have a pleasant outcome.

    Found one still in stock.
    http://www.walmart.com/ip/Toshiba-50...-HDTV/24538869 $240 in cart.

And Discover just called to ask WTF I was doing placing a dozen different walmart orders

The store gave me my copies of Pokemon. Guys behind the counter where telling me of the stuff they had in stock that they were selling for stupidly dirt cheap. Place is cleaned out of TVs, games and monitors.

The other orders I did are showing as in processing still. So now I wait and see...

I guess some heads will be rolling shortly.

    That leaves the question:
    - Disgruntled admin?
    - Moron DBA who left out the WHERE-clause in an UPDATE command?

Got a very generic email from walmart explaining the pricing as a technical glitch and that they apologize for having to cancel my order, but will be sending a $10 egift card as compensation.

Except that I don't know which order was cancelled, I still have multiple orders listed as "in processing", which usually lasts a couple of days.

The name is Lua, which is Portuguese and means "moon". It's a word nod an acronym.

Received an email from Game advertising Black Friday deals. That is NOT a thing. Black Friday is not a thing here.
