Thread: World Cup 2014

Aye. Half time, deserved goal from Uruguay, a peach of a header from Suarez.

  2. #62
And England continues to love Suarez? :P
Tomorrow is like an empty canvas that extends endlessly, what should I sketch on it?

I take it Liverpool is getting kicked out of the Premiership now?

Suarez exiled to the Norwegian 2nd Division. No, I dunno what it is about him, but I just can't help but freaking LOVE Suarez. He is such a troll, and so good at what he does. Real striker.

Is this the first world cup where England got eliminated before the US?

    Uruguay 2 - 1 England

Uruguay played pretty well, and Suarez is sublime, but calling England mediocre would be a huge compliment.

So, the question now becomes: How many of the former World Cup winners will survive the preliminary matches?

And watered heaven with their tears:

Did he who made the lamb make thee?

As I said, maybe today. Now Uruguay has to win the next match

Still 0-0. but who would have predicted Iran would have the upper hand vs. argentina?

How do you figure they have an upper hand? They're hanging on for dear life.

Now yeah, but when I was watching earlier they were the only ones with decent chances (and maybe deserved a penalty). If Argentina still scores, it will be an undeserved win if you ask me.

Only managed to see the last 20 minutes. Messi's goal was sterling really. Too bad it helped Argentina ahead
    Congratulations America

    Belgium through

edit: it amuses me how Belgians, who usually mock us for being way too into the national team, are doing that themselves this time :P I mean, they've got big screens all around, you can even watch in a stadium, while over here that kind of stuff doesn't happen yet - my city already said they won't show matches on public big screens until the quarterfinals, if we reach those.

On another note, it was fun to watch Portugal fight for its life. :P

And now Portugal can lose to Ghana to add insult to injury.

This just show what happens if you take everything our sports commenters say literally. (Sorry, you'll need to understand German to make... erm, sense of it.)

That would be an amazing sport to play. Its like Harry Potter got his hands on a soccer ball.

Yep Mr Bitey at it again.

Needs to be a ban for the remainder of the cup.

Rest of the cup? That might be just for one match. Should be a lot longer than that (I wouldn't even mind lifetime, since it was his third time - apparently a ten match suspension wasn't good enough).

You can add another bad major decision, poor côte d'ivoire..

Edit: maybe not after all, there was contact after all, don't know the rules well enough to know if that's worth a penalty.
