Thread: These People are Retarded

    Default These People are Retarded

    http://news.yahoo.com/police-shoot-g...055405433.html

When Harris spotted undercover officers tracking him in a vacant lot behind some businesses, he turned and fired on their unmarked police car with a stolen 9mm handgun, Belmar said.

All four officers from the car returned fire and have been placed on routine administrative leave.

“These are tragedies, make no mistake,” Belmar said during an early-morning news conference.

Harris’ father told the Post-Dispatch: “We think there’s a lot more to this than what’s being said.”

Just like that thug Brown this moron attacked police officers. And guess what - his no good father sticks up for him. Unbelievable.

This is what happens when you don't put rioters and looters down HARD.

No this is what happens when you let every criminal have a firearm.

Evidence fully cleared Officer Wilson. Perhaps that thug shouldn't attack Police Officers and steal from stores?

We don't let every criminal have a firearm. Oh but wait somehow felons who are barred from having guns still get them... what holy shit! Can you believe it? Criminals are capable of breaking laws! Oh my I bet even 'gun free zones' are being ignored by those dastardly people. Who would have thought that laws wouldn't stop criminals from breaking them!

Yeah but let's face it if he hadn't been killed, none of this would have happened and the police bodycam industry would have been a lot less lucrative

Yes but the officer made the right call. That's like saying 'well she wouldn't have been raped if she didn't leave her house.' The thug went for his gun after robbing a store.

The root causes for this is the liberal cult of victimization, the shitty upbringing Brown had and the failure to adequately deal with looters.

Are we assuming the cops are automatically telling the truth here? Not saying they're not, but some evidence is always useful.

Really? Are you sure it isn't more like saying, "Man you'd think people would not be yelling and kicking at people's doors... Ultimately if you do stupid and aggressive things it catches up with you," or something to that effect??

If guns are freely available then every criminal can easily get a firearm. If guns are strictly controlled then felons struggle to possess one - and getting one automatically makes you a felon so can be prosecuted before they use it.

Turns out some laws do work, which is why we don't live in anarchy.

You think people should be yelling and kicking at people's doors?

I think he meant in this case.

But yes, if the story is true, the guy was a retard. And yes, Michael Brown most likely was shot for a good reason. But that doesn't mean that all protesters are bad (as your 'these people' implies), and that they don't have a point about institutional problems in the police department. Hell, that whole DoJ report clearly shows they have a very good reason to protest. What incited the protests may have been a justified shooting, but the cause of the protests is the very real problem. And the fact that there are looters does not take away the fact that the peaceful protesters are not retarded (at least, not per se - a lot of people in general are stupid ).

As Flixy says, for the case in question. All the info is coming from the cops. They have a pretty strong incentive to lie if they did something wrong.

Well primarily I'm talking about rioters, looters and the parents who support them. If you're a law abiding citizen doing a stupid protest you aren't necessarily a retard and nothing bad should happen to you.

Very unlikely - though like getting struck by lightning it can happen.

Are you serious? Have you not been watching the news? It's happened at least twice in the last few weeks.

To be fair to Lewk, about one person in the US is killed by a lightning strike every week.

33rd week of the year, 317 police killings so far...

Making Loki's suggestion come out to ~10% of police killings this year.

    You're disgusting Lewk.

Until you take guns off criminals the cops are going to have to continue to kill people. So what's your point?

You'll always have cops killing people. There is a reason they are armed (or as in the UK, why armed police backup exists), and part of their job description means going after dangerous people and defending themselves and the public. The issue is whether they are too truggerhappy, and whether they have almost institutional immunity that let's them often get away with power abuse, excessive force, and can get away with lying because cops are supposed to be trusted. Now I actually agree cops should be trusted, not simply because they are cops, but because lying while wearing a badge should be strictly punished. Policing requires a high level of trust by the public, and it's clear that trust has been severely damaged. And if you ask me, that's very problematic.

Except they're killing people who are unarmed.

And I'm certain those 317 'victims' did absolutely noting to warrant it. I'm pretty sure Loki was talking about unjustified shootings. Because no one in their right mind would care about criminals who are shot appropriately.

Hindsight is 20-20, a bodybag is forever. They're being killed by people who are armed, which puts you on guard.

We've been over this before but on average one or more Police are murdered by armed criminals every single week in America, zero are in the UK per year on average. Of course the American Police are going to be on an armed footing and reflexively will protect themselves by killing a suspect if they feel threatened. If American cops weren't getting murdered without anyone batting an eyelid then of course things would be different.

How many threads have been posted here regarding American cops dying at the hands of armed criminals? We react to young black men getting killed by cops, but ignore the fact that cops are ten times more likely to be murdered on duty than a young black man is to be killed by a cop. It happens so frequently in the US it isn't even newsworthy, what a shocking indictment of your country.

If you think someone could try and kill you do you wait to find out if they do, or shoot first?

How's any of this relevant? The last several cases involved police officers killing people who were driving away in cars. They had no reason to think they were going to get shot. The problem isn't that the US police feels more threatened; the problem is that the US police knows that the consequence for killing an unarmed person is non-existent. That means if they think there's even the slightest chance they might get hurt or if they're just in a bad mood, they'll shoot to kill as a first response instead as a last response. They're simply acting according to the incentives they face.

That's just not true. This one involved someone being aggressive to an officer inside a shop, the last one involved an officer shooting someone after 9/11 had been called for someone kicking at a front door.

Not being killed is a pretty big incentive that you gloss over.

Why do you think per capita ten officers are murdered on duty for every young black man killed by an officer?
