    Default Trans vs. Women

    https://www.foxnews.com/sports/north...injures-player

"The Cherokee County Board of Education in North Carolina voted last month to forfeit girls volleyball games against a rival school after a transgender athlete reportedly injured a player with a spike.

The board voted 5-1 Sept. 21 for Hiwassee Dam High School to forfeit all girls volleyball matches against Highlands School after a Hiwassee Dam player reportedly suffered head and neck injuries from a spike from the Highlands transgender athlete.

"The county will not participate in any volleyball games, varsity or junior varsity, against Highlands due to safety concerns," the board said."

At this point might as well just make all sports coed...

Injuries never happen in volleyball. Clearly this is THE issue of our day.

Perfectly reasonable idea. Directly group them by performance and ability (you know, the goal we want for competition in the first place), don't use sex (or worse, gender) as an ineffective and inefficient proxy for their ability.

Lewk is just worried that a man is going to ruin the next college volleyball leak

    Glad we agree on something

I just realized I'm old enough to remember when Renee Richards became the first male-to-female transgender tennis player in 1973.

Then when Billie Jean King beat Bobby Riggs in the "Battle of the Sexes" in 1977. Talk about a made-for-TV spectacle between a male chauvinist and a feminist!

We remain obsessed with genitalia and hormones all these years later, yet professional female athletes still don't get paid what they're worth.

That's because outside of specific sports there isn't much of an audience for it. See how laughably low turnout is for the WNBA.

And why is it that there's an audience for sports when its male athletes but not women, Lewk? It's all athletic feats and competition, right?

Honest answer - my guess is people like to see sports where they put themselves in the shoes of the athlete. By this logic men would watch more men's sports and women would watch more women's sports. But since since women just don't watch sports as much there is a drastic difference between the viewership. Secondly some people prefer to watch the absolute peak of human ability and in physical sports that is always going to be men outside of a few niches. I'm actually not a huge follower of sports, I watched the Spurs when they are in the playoffs, the Super Bowl and some of the Olympics so I'm not the best person to answer the motivations for watching or not watching.

Women's tennis frequently gets higher viewership, but gets mentioned less in the media.

Well, this is a low ball, isn't it?

Lewkowski, my friend, the reasons you outline here, and indeed the reasons why you yourself are outraged about transgender athletes, are a fabrication. Despite what Marjorie Taylor Greene tells you, there is not an abundance of transgender folks lurking in restrooms just waiting to pounce at children. There are no major hurdles (see what I did there) to over-come in international sports that are not dictated by the self-same ideations of sports to begin with.

You even yourself identified that there is a reason for qualifying performance, because we like attaching numbers on things. Great! So, mayhaps the issue is with labeling things "girls' sports" and "boys' sports" to begin with! We are all human beings, can we not all compete on a playing field that is for all of us?

And then yes, we get into the haywoods of who has and who hasn't the baseball grip and so forth, because we implicitly assume that there is a correct way of throwing a ball. There is not! The platonic ideal (oh my goodness) of a sports competition is deciding who has the most sports within them, and dang their dangly bits. It is just bookkeeping when you begin listing genders and nationalities, isn't it?
In the future, the Berlin wall will be a mile high, and made of steel. You too will be made to crawl, to lick children's blood from jackboots. There will be no creativity, only productivity. Instead of love there will be fear and distrust, instead of surrender there will be submission. Contact will be replaced with isolation, and joy with shame. Hope will cease to exist as a concept. The Earth will be covered with steel and concrete. There will be an electronic policeman in every head. Your children will be born in chains, live only to serve, and die in anguish and ignorance.
The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference.

I just want lewk to stop thinking so much abt high-schoolers' genitalia. How can it be so difficult for so many men to clear such a comically low bar?

This is without malice: Have you read Rick Perlstein's Nixonland? If you haven't, that's okay too, but I am going to select a quote therein and I feel the book as a whole illustrates it very well. There is an America, where two competing and irreconcilable apocalyptic visions exist. People like Lewkowski or Marjorie Taylor Greene are extremely worried, for varying degrees of sincerity, about what bathrooms mean to young people. The jokes about fluoridation are in this wheelhouse, the "liberal" side of things sees everything the other side proposes as silly and nonsensical. Whereas to them, it is a deadly serious matter. We can't, I expect, to scold them into thinking their visions of the apocalypse are wrong-headed.

Unironically I would be completely ok with coed sports - I think Title IX was a massive mistake. Hence the coed sports comment. But the left wouldn't allow that because "not enough women would get opportunities." But as always they want to have their cake and eat it too.

You and me Lewk, we're peas in a pod. Just cut it out with all the nonsense, and have people compete as people. The libs can't have that though, because they can't virtue signal over it.

Like there wouldn't be scandals about shared locker rooms (the smaller sports won't have access to 2 separate ones).

What's not mentioned here is the fanatical obsession with contact sports, mostly of men fighting in the football colloseum like gladiators, and the crowds cheering Fight, Fight, Win! They get paid outrageous sums to repeatedly get hit, injured, concussed (CTE) and physically disabled at relatively young ages. It's ridiculous and pathetic on so many levels. WTF is wrong with people that we call that "sport" and get a kick out of watching/supporting/paying for it....and start little boys in Pee Wee Football?!
