Thread: What is making you happy right now

However, Saumarez gave the 74-gun Superb, which was not present for the first part of the battle and was thus undamaged, the freedom to pursue and attack the allied fleet at will. After night had fallen, the Superb sailed between the San Hermenegildo and Real Carlos, first-rate ships of 112 guns, and attacked them both. Superb then proceeded up the Franco-Spanish line, but between the darkness and the smoke from the firing, the Spanish did not realise that she had left. Real Carlos and San Hermenegildo furiously fired on one another, resulting in the loss of both ships. The Superb then attacked and captured the French St. Antoine.
    Accept our dominion.
The light that once I thought compassion still casting shadows in your action
The words you shared were cold transactions that bring me to curse what you've done
When you're up there absorbed in greatness with such success you've grown complacent
I hope you scorch your many faces when you fly too close to the sun

A U.S. military jury cleared a Navy SEAL Thursday of failing to prevent the beating of an Iraqi prisoner suspected of masterminding a 2004 attack that killed four American security contractors. The contractors' burned bodies were dragged through the streets and two were hanged from a bridge over the Euphrates river in the former insurgent hotbed of Fallujah, in what became a major turning point in the Iraq war.

The trial of three SEALs, the Navy's elite special forces unit, has outraged many Americans who see it as coddling terrorists.
    ...
    Woohoo!

Fuck-ass terrorist piece of shit got a bloody lip and punched in the gut (once, allegedly), and in a blatant act of political pandering, the Pentagon decided to hang three SEALs out to dry to pacify the fuck-ass Iraqi government. Frankly, this kind of shit is *exactly* why we shouldn't bother taking guys like this alive; double tap to the head and move on, if retards are gonna get all upset about a bloody lip.

Anyway, one acquitted, two to go, which is what's making me happy right now.

oooh do the Balboa Park and maybe the old carousel is still there, with the infamous brass ring.

Santa Barbra is very pretty. Almost makes you forget it's California.

Leaving in an hour to head to Atlanta. Figured I'd beat rush hour traffic by getting to the airport to pick up my friend an hour early. Can't wait to see her and then go to the Sonata Arctica and Mutiny Within concert tomorrow night.

In the future, the Berlin wall will be a mile high, and made of steel. You too will be made to crawl, to lick children's blood from jackboots. There will be no creativity, only productivity. Instead of love there will be fear and distrust, instead of surrender there will be submission. Contact will be replaced with isolation, and joy with shame. Hope will cease to exist as a concept. The Earth will be covered with steel and concrete. There will be an electronic policeman in every head. Your children will be born in chains, live only to serve, and die in anguish and ignorance.
The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference.

They haven't set a prison term yet. He would have gotten off a lot lighter if not for the obstruction of justice charge. Still, he was found innocent in 1 charge and they deadlocked on another, so I don't see a 20 year term, 5 years would surprise me.

And Anon doesn't have user names

Yes it does. It's probably just guest/[no pass]/user level privileges.

But I meant screenname, you know that. ("Posted by Anonymous")

I learned how to cut glass today! Only broke a couple of panes before I got my window replaced, spent around $50, which is a hell of a lot better than the $204 the Glass Doctor quoted me.

I finished a prototype to present to a hot local restaurant. They have quite a following, with over 100 people who have gotten tattoos of the logo for 25% for life.
Hopefully the owner will be interested. I have some more ideas I am working on as well.

I enjoyed the quote where Palin compared what happened to Watergate.

Hmmmm 25% off food for life (life of the restaurant) and all you have to do is get a tattoo of a toasted cheese sanger?

That's the best reason yet for getting a tattoo.

What is the deal with the dog tags? Membership thing?

I was just doing my room-mom duty today, spending 30 minutes with the class for a teacher appreciation week activity. Will have a party during the last week of school, too, but that's not quite so terrifying. Her class is completely wild. We just had a nice long recess.

Sadly I'm already suffering from the mood swings and temper and such.

I am, however, eternally grateful that she is not progressing as rapidly as her 4th grade classmates.

Crayons and room-mothers ends abruptly. Then it's Tampex and Clearasil. BAM! Do yourself a favor in middle school and chaperone just one dance, no matter how much she protests. Then give it up fast, let it go. Trust me, you don't want to be in the middle of all that drama and hormones. And you do NOT want to be the mom on the fucking prom committee.
